Firefighters rescued a 78-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon who had fallen in an area of difficult access, in the Caves of Ajuy (Pájara).
Around 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert in which it was reported that a person had suffered a fall in a place of difficult access in the area of the caves.
The 112 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
Firefighters located the affected person, rescued him, and evacuated him as far as the ambulance could have reached so that he could receive medical assistance.
SUC personnel assessed and assisted the injured man, who was transferred by ambulance to the General Hospital, in Puerto del Rosario.
At the initial time of assistance, he had moderate hip trauma, according to 112.
The Local Police collaborated with emergency resources.
