A guided tour of the towns of La Atalayita and Valle de la Cueva

The Fuerteventura council offers on October 6 and 13, starting at 6.30 p.m., a virtual guided visit to the indigenous villages of La Atalayita and Valle de la Cueva, within the virtual routes that have been programmed by the council of Historical Heritage and Dissemination of Cultural Heritage with the aim of bringing Majorero's historical and cultural heritage closer to the population. To participate, interested persons must register through the cultural agenda of the council's website: http://www.cabildofuer.es/cabildo/agenda/visita-virtual-poblados-indigenas-de-la-atalayita-y- valley-the-cave /

This visit follows the success of the first route, which took place in the rock carvings of the Tindaya Mountain, in which almost a hundred people participated.

Under the title 'The mahos, habitat and economy', this virtual tour seeks to shed light on the day-to-day life of the mahos. The route is divided into two parts, the first of them starting from the archaeological zone of La Atalayita to show the way of life of the aborigines of Fuerteventura and the domestic architecture. The second part will be dedicated to the way of life, that is, to the economy of the mahos, with the Village of Valle de la Cueva as the protagonist.

It is a total immersive experience, since the virtual environment based on 360 images will serve as the basis for discovering the ideological universe of the Mahos.
The following virtual visits will take place on the Camino de San Torcaz (Betancuria) on October 21 and 28. According to the area councilor, the objective is to continue expanding these routes and to be able to offer them in person soon, when the health situation allows it.

Tamara: I participated in the Tindaya one on 30th Sept. To understand these sessions please read my report before signing up.
