I thought I had posted about this a few weeks back but can't find the thread.
La Lonja café, the original fisherman's café down by the harbour, has been knocked out during lockdown (not before time as it was pretty manky inside) and is being refurbed. I've used this place for around 20 years and I preferred it in the earlier of those days when it was mainly locals (fishermen) drinking coffee and arehucas, discussing their catches and sharing a newspaper. Many a coffee and tortilla did I consume there and was always made very welcome. In recent years it has become more of a tourist location and to me it has lost it's charm. However it is in a wonderful situation looking out over the harbour and hopefully this refurb will allow it to flourish after lockdown. Just hope it will still be somewhere to grab a coffee rather than ordering a full blown meal.
I'm pretty sure this is where Emmi and I met up some years ago when I passed on some Spanish archaeological books! It's also where MLA & Mrs MLA and I waited for our Lobos zodiac, and so on and so on - lots of personal memories!
