Police operation in Fuerteventura
Residents of Barrio Fabelo were surprised this morning by the heavy Police presence in some streets of this popular and quiet area of Puerto del Rosario, the capital of the island of Fuerteventura.
At around 7 a.m., officers from the Civil Guard Reserve Group with the support of the National Police entered one of the houses in the neighborhood, leaving it at around 8:30 a.m. with several boxes and one person arrested.
It so happens that a citizen was arrested in this same address a few months ago in another Police operation. So far, the reasons for the search and arrest have not been revealed, although some sources suggest that it would be a result of an investigation opened on the island months ago into drug trafficking.
The Police operation was extended to other municipalities on the island, such as Antigua, where a resident of Triquivijate was arrested.
The proceedings remain open and the judicial authority has decreed that they remain confidential.
