Puerto del Rosario Carnival 2020

The main Carnival Events in Puerto del Rosario will take place from 22 Feb - 1 Mar 2020.  It will be a local bank holiday in Puerto on Tuesday 25 February which is Martes de Carnivale (the UK's Shrove Tuesday).

The theme is Aztec World, Mexico.

The first of the Carnival Events - the Arretrankos will take place on Saturday 15 February at 17.30.  It's a fancy dress 'free wheel' run down the Virgen y Peña Street, turning into Calle La Venta, and down the Calle Leon y Castillo and swerving round the '3 Bums' roundabout to the finishing line.

Sat 15 Feb
17.30 - Arretrankos - fancy dress cart/non-powered vehicle event, followed by music concert, and the Birth of the Sardine
21.00 - All night party (Verbena) at the Recinto Ferial near the bus station

10.00 - Schools Street parades
19.00 - Infant Carnival Queen competition
23.00 - Music and DJ's

Sat 22 Feb
20.00 - Murga singing groups, followed by an all night Verbena

Sun 23 Feb
13.00 - Archipencos - fancy dress raft race from the harbour to Los Pozos beach, followed by Day Carnival with music/bands near the beach

Mon 24 Feb
22.00 - Latin Night with judging of fancy dress costumes at 00.30 and 02.00

A Carnival bank holiday in the Puerto del Rosario Municipality
