The municipal government team continues to fulfill its commitment to improve the city of Puerto del Rosario after reporting the beginning of the remodeling of the maritime area and the rehabilitation of the natural pool of the El Charco neighborhood, in addition to the new avenue-boulevard that would give continuity to Primero de Mayo Street.
The imminent start of these works is launched after carrying out this Friday the signing of the act of reconsideration between the City Council and the company awarded the contract, Transportes y Construcciones Gopar Rodríguez S.L., in which the mayor of the municipality, Juan Jiménez, the Councilor for Works and Services, was present, José Juan Herrera, together with the representative of the contractor company and the health and safety coordinator.
The neighborhood of El Charco of the capital of Majorera will present a renewed image when the planned actions are finished, including the repair of the natural pool, which will always be full in order to be enjoyed by its users, and the conditioning of the areas near it for the transit and use of the coastal promenade for all people, since it will be adapted to the universal accessibility regulations.
This project also includes new rest areas, a solarium, new pergolas, benches, bins, pallets with self-supporting wooden structures, and also the wall cladding of the military building with natural stone and the landscaping of the area with native vegetation.
The City Council communicates that, due to the start of the works, Ruperto González Negrín Street and the coastal promenade will remain closed from next Monday, November 29.
The mayor of the municipality, Juan Jiménez, said that the intention of this government group is "to revitalize this area that currently needs to be improved, enabling the use and enjoyment of this coastal promenade of Puerto del Rosario to all users, so that it is accessible to all people, and seeking a purpose not only of a social nature, but also touristy. In short, we continue working to improve the municipality that citizens deserve."
New avenue-boulevard in Puerto del Rosario
In the next month of January of the year 2022 the works will begin for the creation of an avenue-boulevard that will give continuity to the existing pedestrian section in the Primero de Mayo street of Puerto del Rosario,one of the main axes that crosses the city and that has a great social acceptance with numerous cultural Events and daily social meetings.
The beginning of the execution of these works is launched after having made this Friday, November 26, the signing of the act of reconsideration between the City Council and the UTE awarded the contract: TECOPSA AND OPC, in which the mayor of Porto, Juan Jiménez, was present, together with the Councilor for Works and Services, José Juan Herrera, the representatives of the UTE, the director of the work and the security coordinator of the same.
In the Primero de Mayo street of the urban area of Puerto del Rosario, current tractor of economic, administrative and social activity, a series of actions will be carried out, from the intersection of León y Castillo street to the roundabout of the Health Center 1, which will improve accessibility, as well as proceed to act on its resurfacing and, most importantly, a restructuring of the environment will be made to provide the area with greater attractiveness to revalue this main axis of the city that will give, in turn, a greater boost to the commercial sector, as it will have the opening of new establishments and shaded areas and rest areas accompanied by native flora.
The project entails in itself a reform of the supply network, as well as the sanitation network, rainwater, electrical networks, telecommunications and public lighting with the installation and burial of the lines.
In the words of the municipal councilor, Juan Jiménez, "it is intended with this work to provide the area with greater dynamism, while allowing each citizen to enjoy a new renovated space that will have the opening of new commercial and catering establishments that will encourage citizens and tourists to visit and enjoy it", Explains.
This project has been awarded for an amount of 2,097,066.72 euros and will be completed in one year after the start of the works in January 2022.
The works are managed through the Department of Works directed by José Juan Herrera and has the co-financing of the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Tourism Infrastructures.
