There are still going to be a few daily flights between here, FUE, and LPA and TFN but you have to prove essential travel to get on them. I believe they are mainly for health workers, people with scheduled treatment at the hospitals there, and family members going to stay with a vulnerable person to assist them.

I would have to agree but don't forget to take your travel insurance duration into consideration. Also, insurance policies on properties in the UK? Longer than expected stays could have an impact on either!

Here's a transcript of the conversation my wife had with Insure & Go recently. I managed to get home
Info: Thank you for choosing to chat with us.  An agent will be with you shortly.
Info:
Hello, my name is ****. I'm one of InsureandGo's customer service agents. How can I help you?
Info:

****:
My husband is in Fuerteventura and due to fly Saturda. His flight was cancelled and changed to 31st March. It looks like Ryanair planes will be grounded by then. our insurance coveres him for 90 days which will expire if he cannot get home
***:

Hello ***, sorry to hear this.

***:

Do you have your policy number please?

****:
Im sorry but he has the policy with him
****:

What is your postcode?

***:

Please

:
ive just fopund a copy ********************
***:

Thank you

***:

Before I'm able to discuss your policy with you, I'll need to ask for some security information. Please can you provide the following:

+ full name of the main policy holder
+ their date of birth
+ the full address the policy is registered under (Including Post code)
+ the email address currently on the policy

Please make sure that you update us with any changes to your personal details, however if you are not the main policy holder you will not be able to make any changes to the policy.

It’s going to take me a moment whilst I check the policy details for you and make sure I get you the right information. Please be patient and I will be back with you as soon as I have the answer.

***:
ok
***:

At the moment as he has been booked on a flight for the 31st he would be able to make a claim for accommodation cover whilst he is having to stay for the extra time. The policy would extend up to 30 days if he has to stay out there for longer.

****:
Thank you. What happens if this situations goes on for longer than that.
***:

If the situation goes on longer than that you would need to keep us informed.

***:
Ok. Thank you. You have been very helpful.
***:

You're very welcome, is there anything else I can help you with today?

***:
No thank you
***:

Take care *****

****:

There is now an official list of hotels/apartments that can stay open in Spain to cater for people that cannot return to their homeland.

There are 3 establishments on Fuerteventura:

1. Hotel Tamasite in Puerto del Rosario
2. Caleta Dorada apartments in Caleta de Fuste
3. Fuertesol Apartments in Caleta de Fuste
