Renew temp TIE to Permante

1/ Obtain an appointment online. Go to Sede electronic administraciones publicas.
2/ Select extranera
3/ Select Cita Previa de extranera.Scroll to bottom of this page push “accede al procedimiento
Next bits self explanatory
If the outcome is “non available to you at this time” Try again another day, it might take a few goes

Other routes via UK Gov and select “if you registered before 6 July 2020.
If your Spanish is OK try tel 928 856 282.

4/ Fill in form Modelo 790 codigo 012 on line
Select “certificado de registro de residente communitario..........
(Because when the original was issued we were in the EU)
It should produce the Fee 12 Euros in the bottom right hand box.
I recommend ticking box “en efectivo” (pay cash)
Sign and date in left box
Print and take to a bank before 11am, Pay and get a printed receipt.

5/ Attend Police offices with printed appointment, or on phone.
6/ You will need your passport.
A few words to say what you want
Existing TIE
Up to date Padron
Proof of payment of fee
One photo (I suggest two)
A form 023 all completed,( glanced at and given back??)
Learn the names of your fingers(NB indice is index)
Lots of finger prints taken on a magic machine.
7/ You should be given a paper appointment and told to come back but not before 45 days.
There is a “LOTE” number on this form which you can use to find out when your TIE is ready. (But I do not think that it is necessarily ready for collection)

In case it hasn't been mentioned before, the LOTE number is printed on a poster and displayed on the pillar outside the National Police Station so you can drive past and see if your number is up!

As per Tom, thanks for the great detail David.

DavidP I guess this is why they returned form EX23 back to you. I have it ready filled in but better to be safe than sorry.

Yes,I saw that.
But I hedged my bets after finding so much conflicting "stuff" elsewhere.
Also I think it helps if you go in with loads of paperwork, they assume you are prepared!! or not?
If the next reported application in this forum has theirs ignored then it can definitively be categorised as a non requirement, thus making the whole scenario easier by the minute.

I am going to Seville next week for 4 days, once I'm back and done the process I will report back if needed or not.

Just been in to collect my Permanente.
Arrived as usual at front desk, showed my pre appointment given to me when I applied 7 weeks ago
Sat down with others, but immediately called forward effectively jumping the queue, a bit embarrassing.
My new card was in a box with a couple of others.
Asked to hand my temp in.
Some mystery jiggling on the computer,I assume some sort of verification with Madrid.
Finger print of left and right index finger.
New card handed over with an accompanying smile.
Suggested I take it to ayuntamiento to update their records???

Presently trying to get a duplicate green European residence card for a friend,Irish citizen, because theirs is illegible.
Had to get an appointment in the usual way, sorted the 790 and proceeding slowly.
Easy to get a TIE style but for a non photo one there seems to be an obstacle around every corner.
I 'll report on progress as and when.
