Selling a property
#11
It is all on the Euro value. If there is no CTG to pay in Spain then there is nothing to declare in the U.K. if there is a gain it is converted at the current rate of exchange for your U.K. return.

We would sell (if we decide to) at a loss.  That said with the exchange rate it would mean we would make a slight profit
in 2005 it was 1.28 euro to the pound.

One can completely see why there is so much corruption in Spain though !! You have to find a way around all the crooks. I can totally understand why so many people resort to cash in an envelope side deals !!! I would as well tbh !!
Glad it worked out for you Archer  Smile

A few years back it was common practice to have cash as part of the deal.   A solictor's offices had a side room for
this or they would leave the room so the cash part of the deal could be done.  Pretty sure a member of the Spanish
royal family got caught doing this and I am sure it must still go on in some parts of Spain.

I'll butt in here if I may.

We have a 2 bed, 2 bathroom duplex apartment with underground parking and store room, central Caleta, if that is of any interest?   Smile
