Spain is still aiming to vaccinate 70% of the population by the Summer using the three available vaccines.

45,357 people in the Canary Islands have already received two doses of the vaccine, which represents 3.36 percent of the target population.

They have now completed 100% of Group 1 (residents and workers of centres for the elderly) with two doses, and Group 2 (SCS professionals) is at 98.46% with 37,659 vaccinated professionals.

Are we ancients (70+) any nearer to getting our Jab. 
Any update on how will we be contacted?
Just been reading Canaris 7 and confused. Are they going to do all Jabs on GC or just "professional groups.

DavidP: Are you registered with the Spanish health system (I seam to remember that you are).  We (similar age range) were told we should "get done" in April by Centro Salud. 

If you are not registered, I think you will not get a jab until the entire registered population of the island have been jabbed. That could be many many months.

Those eligible will be contacted by phone. In Puerto del Rosario they have been doing the vaccines in a drive thru next to the hospital.

Sort of in line with what Stephen is saying, I was in Centro de Salud in Antigua last week, and a Nurse I know quite well said they were starting over 80,s this week and they would be contacted by phone.

Yes we are registered, and got our flu jabs last year without a problem.

I just had a call from the Antigua Health Centre - COVID jab appointment on 31/3   I'm not a 70+, being a mere sprat of a lad at 69, but I am reg. with the health service - S1 and health card, lala

Ok, I got ut wrong, took my wife to the medical centre, this morning for her vaccination, expecting there to be people everywhere, which there were not, expecting to have to hang around for 20/30 mins, but again no, the nurse asked my wife where I was, and was told outside in the car, she was then told to go and get me as they would vaccinate the pair of us, as I am 5/6 yers younger than my wife and was expecting a call in the next week or so I was quietly impressed, what is a tad off-putting is they tell you to stay there for 15 mins after the vaccination in case you feel unwell  and if you feel any pain anywhere just take Paracetamol, and go back at the same time on 31/03 for the second vaccination.
