The largest offshore vessel in the world on its way to Gran Canaria.
The multipurpose offshore vessel "Pioneering Spirit", the largest in the world in its category, is sailing towards the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where it is scheduled to arrive on November 24. A technical stopover for the supply of provisions and relief of part of its crew, maritime media report, advances the specialized digital magazine puentedemando. COM.
Owned by Allseas, its main task is the installation and dismantling of oil rigs, as well as the laying of subsea pipelines.
Its appearance is impressive, as it is made up of two hulls in the form of a gigantic catamaran joined by a striking central structure, so that the length is 382 m (477 m including the arm with which it carries out operations at the bow), 124 m wide, 30 m wide and 19.85 m deep. Of 403,342 gross registered tons, it has a displacement of 683,200 tons.
