The festivities of San Juan return to Cofete

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, wanted to "send the best wishes for a magnificent development of the Patron Saint Festivities of Cofete 2022, in honor of San Juan, which start today, Friday, June 17, from 4 pm, thanks to the support and collaboration maintained between the Island Corporation, the City Council of Pájara and the neighborhood associations and Cofete Festival Commission, who have worked together so that these parties take place with the greatest guarantees of safety and comfort".

"A collaboration that has made it possible that the requests of the Festival Commission of the town, the neighbors of the same and the Municipal Corporation of Pájara have been carried out in a timely manner, for the best enjoyment of this festivity by both the neighbors and the multitude of attendees who come to it every year, " affirms the cabildo.

Specifically, from the Insular Area of Infrastructures, Planning, Roads and Territorial Planning, directed by President Sergio Lloret, as well as from the Ministries of Sustainability and Environmental Management of the Island Council, directed by Lola García and Pedro Martínez respectively, "the requests made by the Cofete Festival Commission have been met, in public instances signed by its president Patricio Rodríguez".

In them, "the residents of Cofete made the requests, which have been satisfied by the Insular Corporation, so that the maintenance and improvement works of the halls of the Tenant's House of the town were carried out, as well as the necessary painting and cleaning of the interior roof of the Church in honor of San Juan who will preside over these festivities", states the press release of the council.

"In the same way, the request for adaptation and improvement of the rural roads of Cofete has been met, through which the Pilgrimage in Honor of Javier Benítez will run tomorrow, Saturday, June 18, presided over by the traditional 'Cofete truck', which serves as the head and vehicle of transfer of the patron during the aforementioned Pilgrimage every year, by cession of the Island Council", they explain.
