Three people were injured on Monday in a head-on collision between two vehicles on the FV-2 road, at kilometre 55, in the municipality of Pájara, according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The accident occurred at 3:16 p.m. on Monday and left a woman with serious polytrauma, who had to be rescued from inside the vehicle by Pájara firefighters.
After being stabilized by the staff of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), she was transferred by medical helicopter to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura.
In addition, a minor suffered moderate injuries and was initially evacuated by basic life support ambulance to a health center, from where he was later transferred in a medicalized ambulance to the same hospital.
Another woman, also with moderate injuries from trauma to the chest, was assisted at the scene and transferred by basic life support ambulance to the General Hospital.
Two basic life support ambulances, one medicalized and the SUC helicopter intervened in the emergency, as well as firefighters from Pájara. The Civil Guard regulated traffic in the area and carried out the corresponding procedures.
