V V license rules
#1
I have 2 houses next to me both are let out to visitors. One has a VV license the other does not have the VV sign on it.

How do the authorities check houses to confirm they have a license? I always thought the rule was that you can not have guests staying in a house until you put the VV sign up on the property.

Seems unfair if one owner is following the rules while the other is not.

Do you mean paying guests as surely you don't need a Vv licence if you have family and friends to stay?

Yes paying guests. One lot of guests arrive and leave, cleaners in, next day another different lot of paying guests in.

Make a denunciation with Police or council.

I think its up to the individual owner to display the VV or not.

I've been told, by someone who owns and rents out 3 properties, that it is a condition of the licence to display the approved Vv sign prominently on the premises by the main entrance.

Tom.

100% sure the VV sign has to be displayed. If they’re not, they most probably haven’t got one and you are entitled to denounce. You will have to give your NIE to denounce.
