13/09/2020 - 19:15h Canary Islands. - ACTIVITY IN THE PALM. - NOISES, SHAKERS, BEATS AND LOTS OF GAS. - THE VOLCANO IS REACTING. - I didn't want to get to this point, but it's been a month that the volcano is with a new process, which is a soft reactivation in all order, but no longer without fear of being wrong it's a reactivation. In the 2022 depth chart you can clearly see the increase in sustained activity at 9-13km that is causing magma to migrate through that area.
These last few days, especially the last few hours are being busier than expected, in addition to inhaling SO2 teal gases throughout the Aridane Valley, people feel like they are rolling stones and punches, as well as vibrations and shaking s in several areas of Los Llanos, Las Manchas and The March. Some even come to describe it as an actual "underground storm." In fact, some have heard "jets" or pressurized gas spills from high emissions from the fumes that have dragged some ash nearby, no less.
I leave you a fragment of the following report from a resident in La Laguna tonight:
"Hi Enrique!
I live in La Laguna and for a few weeks the changes have been increasing. From the total silence of the night. To very nervous or very clingy animals.
But there are two special things.
Last week a painting fell off the wall (it's been hanging there for 6 years.. even during the volcano) and now. Tonight. Absolute silence outside and I just noticed a loud bang. Like a closet fell under me (like on a floor). At 0.30 hours later.... almost two hours (!!!! Hasn't had that since the eruption) shaking back and forth and strange noises too. Like a submarine or something.
The tremor was pretty weird too. Because once I only felt it below the back of my knees.... After the 8th time (like a train passed under me) I stopped counting. "
So, there is NO new eruption, but if volcanic activity is coming back and should be watched more intensely, since a year ago we went to yellow traffic light after the meeting of the PEVOLCA. Here is the link to Post 406 from this very space on September 13, 2021.

The PEVOLCA has updated the information on gases in its latest report of the Report of 09/09/2020 -14:00h and, which I have not been able to find at the moment, only chronicles.

YELLOW SEMAPH LIGHT
And the traffic light is still yellow, people very nervous, noticing and hearing things, seeing again ash on the leaves of plants and even sweeping ash off their whips (possibly dragged by the wind or the "jets" or pressuriz leaks gas ads they say they heard tonight. Also rumors are coming, (Unconfirmed) and what worries me most is that a new crack has been located between the Remo and port Naos, where a lot of gases come out. That crack could be a gas fireplace and the previous point most likely has in case the magma rises, and which by the way is just below pushing in a swarm that forces it to move SW from the Cumbre Old Reservoir towards THE Paddle
In the graph of earthquakes with the depth it is noticed that the area between 9 and 13 km is more active, which is reflected in the largest number of earthquakes these past days and which is starting to be clearly noticed in the graph of the released seismic energy accumulated (blue line) and you can see that it no longer stops, but has a continuous release of energy indicating that there is a process going on for almost a month.
THERE IS NO SHAKING:
The sea has waves of several meters, generating quite a lot of noise, which affects the seismographers, but there is no tremor at the moment, the last peak of the same is a 7.6 telesism, and it is luckily still low.
With all of this you can NOT be assured that there will be a resounding eruption, it is a reactivation and a process that has been squeezing for a month, and all indicating that it will continue to squeeze. The odds are actually between 10 and 20%.
What we have to think now is whether it will hold the ground and stop or if on the contrary it will start rising seismicity, gases and deformation and come back out as it did a year ago. Nobody knows this.
At the moment, deformation, gases and field data are missing, so I do not rule out that there are more conclusive data. One of them would be a reboot in the He3/He4 relationship that would indicate a new magmatic intrusion and that would explain what's going on.
Also in some liars of markets, bars, institutes and social networks as they would say in Madrid, they are saying that the UE has returned to the island today, for this possible volcano reactivation. The rumor that is to be officially confirmed and that to be confirmed would indicate that there is more information that is made public, which no one misses you with that mania to cover, hide, oblivious or not publish information that is sensitive and for tourism.
And a little more, I end with the last, you see noises that look like volcanic glissandes generated by the noise that arises when there is a depressurization of fluids and gases in a narrow rock passage and which are clearly marked on the spectrum s could even explain the jets or gas splashes and some of the noises heard this afternoon. 13&typeFO=2&typeSP=1&station=PA01&time=12-13
Much encouragement, now we have to see how the state of the volcanic system evolves, at the moment it is NOT going to a clear eruption, it is a process that is maintained, it is made way, but it does not cease. The good news is that it doesn't accelerate any more (more seismicity), but it doesn't slow down either, so we're at a waiting compass to see what it does. (Enrique)
