Volcanic activity in Canary Islands 2023

07/01/2023 - 21:30h Canary Islands. - SEISMIC ACTIVITY BY REGIONAL EFFORTS ESPECIALLY BETWEEN GRAN CANARIA AND FURTEVENTURA AND OTHER PLACES. ADD THE PALM VOLCANO IS RELEASING STEAM AFTER A FEW DAYS WITHOUT DOING IT. - Many earthquakes of an appreciable magnitude are occurring between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, at the moment there are 4 localized, highlighting a 3.2, which could have been felt weakly in some of the islands, indicating strong regional efforts.

And then this afternoon another to the Northeast of this area towards Fuerteventura

es2023amkzy 07/01/2023 19:09:11 28.3670 -14.6708 0.0 km M 2.3 mbLg ATLANTIC-Canary Islands

And a little earlier, also a couple of them to the North of Tenerife, for regional efforts:

es2023alnfq 07/01/2023 07:08:18 292656 -16.7958 30.0 km M 1.9 mbLg ATLANTIC-Canary Islands

And of course in the area of the Enmedio Volcano, without being very concrete and with a lot of dispersion, with several earthquakes yesterday above all, indicating quite a few regional tensions. It's clear that the full moon and the perihelium (from Jan. 4) have something to do with it.

And of course in several islands follow the movements:

1. - El Hierro: Yesterday another just under the township of the Restinga that its meeting with a few days ago and lines up with this and 3.6 of December 15 in the Sea of Calms, indicating regional tensions.

2. - TENERIFE: It's quieter, with fewer earthquakes since the small peak we had at the beginning of the year. Highlighting an Earthquake in the area of Seven Fountains of a magnitude 0.9 to 2.9 km deep on the day of the ephemeris of the 1705 eruption in that area.

I end with one consideration, and it is that regional efforts, which squeeze areas with magma or magmatic chambers, tend to follow the pressurization of them or their removal to other areas, as is happening in Palma where s and moves SW from the area eruption and from Cumbre Vieja. In the case of the Palma maximum activity occur every 14 and 28 days, where seismic energy released has areas of maximums, giving steps in the function of singer, which are of course caused by lunar interaction on the gra Earthly beauty, they have the same period which confirms it.

I hope you had happy Kings and I can only wish you a good year to all the Canary Islands. (Enrique)

16/01/2023 - 20:45h Canary Islands. - SMALL SWARMS IN THREE PLACES IN TENERIFE, IN ICOD OF WINES, IN THE BOILER AND IN THE FAREWELL AREA, PLUS A 3.4 DEEP Earthquake IN EL HIERRO. - Lots of data and few words, whoever does not want to see it, do not see it, but those movements in the area of icod of the wines, Adeje and the boiler warns us that magma is being pressurized in the weaker areas, accumulating in areas do This is what I'm talking about. we've already had swarms, it's the interdorsal areas and the boiler. And all this despite the multiple revisions of the IGN, always on the low, of the earthquakes recorded normally since 2004, with many deferred and science passing the arc of triumph.
Recent Earthquake in the Icod area of Wines:

is2023azcnh 14/01/2023 17:35:52 28.3160 -16.7176 14.0 km M 0.7 mbLg S WINE ICOD. ITF

Recent Earthquake in the Adeje area:

es2023bbnic 16/01/2023 01:19:10 28.1406 -16.7324 7.0 km M 0.3 miles NW Bye. ITF

Recent Earthquake in the area of the Caldera de Ucanca:

es2023auggk 12/01/2023 01:49:08 28.2041 -16.6662 17.0 km M 0.7 miles NW Villaflor de Chasna. ITF

Date: 10/01/2023 03:44:20 28.2314 -16.6807 12.0 km M 0.5 mblg NW Villaflor de Chasna. ITF

These three activity zones have moved separately on other occasions, the Icod area of Wines at 10-12km during the 2004 Seismic Crisis, the Adeje area in several swarms in October 2016, 2017 and November 2018. Then the Boiler started to move. The truth is that we only need to move the Vilaflor area to have a plenary regarding magma reservoirs.

And the truth is that this configuration at 120° degrees augurs that something pushes from below and can be seen in a slight long-term inflation observed on the ground, which tends to rise in several seasons of the island of Tenerife to med I deadline, on IGN it doesn't look very good though.

https://www.ign.es/web/ign/portal/vlc-gp...eVeEOBDPCk

The center of these seismo-volcanic efforts coincides again with a point located under the Boca de Tauce area, where all efforts and swarms seem to converge, which is not new and has been happening since 2016.

3.4 Earthquake IN EL HIERRO.

Meanwhile in EL HIERRO , a considerable, relatively deep Earthquake that has been poorly felt on the island and whose epicenter is located in the western part of the island, next to the Orchilla Lighthouse, in the area where the last magma intrusion it moved under the island during the second half of 2012 and resulted in a moderate-strong seismicity reaching 5.1 (according to IGN) (5.4 according to EMSC) which caused many layoffs on the island.

Es2023 will be leaving 14/01/2023 06:45:06 27.7233 -18.1693 19.0 km M 3.4 near the border. H I E N G

This movement was followed by another of less magnitude a few hours later at quite a depth.

es2023aynpo 14/01/2023 10:03:55 27.7940 -18.2180 34.0 km M 2.4 mbLg W FRONTERA. H I E N G

https://www.ign.es/web/ign/portal/vlc-se...Xr_UZgRbFo

In La Palma quite quiet and there are many Events to locate. If the network was complete or the Events were reviewed well, surely there would be quite a few more localized Events, see but as it shows what is appreciated in the seismogram and spectrum of the Palma after these earthquakes, with 2 clear signals well located at 6:50 a.m. and 6:54 a.m.

https://www.ign.es/web/ign/portal/vlc-se...QRhB7W5XYs

And in the Gomera another small Earthquake was also felt a little earlier at 06:13h and it has not been located.

https://www.ign.es/web/ign/portal/vlc-se...uKJZOmlj8Q

FOLLOW THE LOW-MAGNITY Earthquake IN THE PALM:

The truth is that superficial earthquakes follow, indicating that the magmatic system keeps deactivating, stopping, and cooling, which is of course a good sign.

it is2023ayhis 14/01/2023 06:54:04 286175 -17.8739 1.1 km M 1.4 mbLg S EL PASO. I L I P

And of course follow the deep activity at 8-13 km which denotes that the magmatic chamber that was formed during the eruption is still there, suffering efforts and giving localized tremors or earthquakes and moving slowly:

es2023bbldf 16/01/2023 00:12:50 28.5826 -17.9000 10.0 km M 1.4 mbLg I L I P
es2023bautr 15/01/2023 15:56:49 28.5860 -17.8998 9.0 km M 0.8 mbLg SE TAZACORTE. I L I P

es2023bacdz 15/01/2023 06:33:00 28.5673 -17.9147 13.0 km M 0.7 mbLg S Tazacorte. I L I P

In short, I end by saying it is seen quite low-intensity activity (typical of volcanic systems) on the main islands such as Palma and Tenerife and follow regional efforts affecting the entire archipelago, I think in a few days s will show us the paw, being noticed again in Tenerife, where there are 3 hot spots right now, to many for my liking. Greetings to all the Canary Islands, especially Palmeros and Tinerfeños.
(Enrique).

17/01/2023 - 20:15h Canary Islands. - NEW SWARM IN ARICO AND THERE ARE ALREADY FOUR PLACES IN TENERIFE. NEW SEISMIC RESULTS IN THE PALM. - Already commented yesterday that Tenerife warns us that magma is being pushed from below, noticing its presence in the weakest areas, the interdorsal areas and the boiler, accumulating in the same, in areas where we have already had the 4 swarm is.
Below I leave you the last of Arico where 11 of the 15 signs observed have been located, with magnities between 1 and 0 and depths between 3 and 6 km, although some like that 1, were reviewed very low, should have removed the evil xima and minimum, since that would have given a magnitude of 1,2, with a variation between 1.4 and 0.9, which is more logical, putting a station with a magnitude of 0.2 is a mistake in all respects, especially having many as it is.

And as the Palm continues to move deeper, in what appears to be another new small bump that has every 12-14 days, as seen in the release chart of accumulated released seismic energies. What is certain is that there is more seismicity of lower magnitude that is not being tracked by the IGN.

Greetings to all the Canary Islands, let's hope that the island of Tenerife does not accelerate more its volcanic activity and calms down, although rather it seems to be going the other way, activating more and more, the latest this swarm of last night (Enrique).
