12 premises sanctioned by the Labour Inspectorate in Fuerteventura.
The National Police was carrying out an operation to eradicate illegal acts against workers' rights and Social Security fraud.
As a result of the operation, 12 premises and 10 workers were sanctioned for different irregularities in the field of immigration and social security. The total amount of the penalties amounts to more than €188,000.
The National Police, in collaboration with the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate, has carried out an operation in different parts of the island of Fuerteventura in order to check and eradicate possible offences against workers' rights and social security fraud.
After procedures carried out by agents of the National Police, it was determined that several commercial and hospitality establishments on the island of Fuerteventura could have among their staff workers in an irregular situation in Spain and in turn would be committing social security fraud.
A total of 43 inspections have been carried out in different commercial and hospitality premises and a total of 136 people have been identified, including managers and workers of the different companies. As a result of these inspections, a total of 12 premises were sanctioned for different irregularities related to the hiring of workers and 10 workers were also proposed for sanction for being in Spain in an irregular situation and lacking the proper work permit.
