UPDATE:

The Supreme Court confirms 11 years in prison for the pilot who abandoned an airplane with cocaine in Fuerteventura - The Supreme Court has ratified the sentence of 11 years in jail for David Amar de Juan, pilot who in 2019 landed and abandoned a small plane at the Fuerteventira airport with a load of 388 pounds of cocaine. In addition to the prison sentence, the sentence includes a fine of €65 million, a figure that reflects the estimated value of the seized drug, according to data from the Las Palmas Provincial Court.

The Events occurred on March 26, 2019 when the aircraft EC-JXM Private Pilatus PC-12 (PC-12/45), piloted by Amar de Juan, landed in Fuerteventura from South America. The aircraft was abandoned on the runway, which aroused suspicion from the authorities. During an inspection the next day, Police found 388 packages of cocaine hidden inside the plane. The shipment, with an estimated value of more than 11 million euros, was destined for the illegal market in Spain.

After abandoning the small plane, Amar de Juan was on the run for three years, until his arrest in Madrid in 2022 when he tried to carry out operations at the Mexican Embassy with false documentation. The pilot has since remained in preventive custody.

In his defense, the defendant claimed he was a victim of a trap by the United States Drug Administration (DEA), stating that DEA agents incited him to transport the drug. However, both the Las Palmas Provincial Court and the Supreme Court dismissed is....

Does that now mean that the small plane that has been sat at the airport for the last 5 years is going to be removed?
