Canary Islands registers 582 new cases of COVID-19 in people over 60 years old since last Friday.
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, following the new indicators included in the Surveillance and Control Strategy of COVID-19, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities, reports that since the last data update last Friday, 582 new positives in COVID-19 have been counted in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is monitored after the acute phase of the pandemic has passed.
Therefore, the cumulative number of Coronavirus cases among this group amounts to 99,809 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 225.72 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 113.67.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 82 people admitted for Coronavirus, of which six are in ICU and the rest, 76, in the plant. On the other hand, in the last six days there have been nine deaths, seven notified in Gran Canaria, one in Tenerife and another in La Gomera. All cases, aged between 76 and 95 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.

52 people admitted to the archipelago
Therefore, the cumulative number of Coronavirus cases in this group amounts to 110,236 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at fourteen days stands at 89.29 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at seven days at 56.15.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 52 people admitted for Coronavirus, of which nine are in ICU and the rest, 43, on the floor. On the other hand, in the last seven days the death of seven people has been registered, of which three took place in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria and two in La Palma. All cases, aged between 81 and 94 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.

The Ministry of Health reports that since August 12, and complying with the Resolution of August 5 of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, in the calculation of beds occupied by patients with COVID-19, the number of beds occupied by patients with pneumonia or acute respiratory infection or another pathology that is considered attributable to a SARS-CoV-2 infection is taken into account.

Health confirms 45 hospital admissions in the Canary Islands of people over 60 years of age.
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has notified, in an update since last Friday, the verification of 291 new positive cases in the archipelago in COVID-19 among people over 60 years of age, a population group that is monitored after the acute phase of the pandemic, following the new indicators included in the Surveillance and Control Strategy of COVID-19, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities.
The cumulative number of cases amounts to 110,527 people
Therefore, the cumulative number of Coronavirus cases in this group amounts to 110,527 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at fourteen days stands at 105.28 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at seven days at 48.35.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 45 people admitted for Coronavirus, of which five are in ICU and the rest, 40, in plant. On the other hand, in the last seven days the death of six people has been registered, of which three took place in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria and one in Lanzarote. All cases, aged between 74 and 90 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.

Therefore, the cumulative number of Coronavirus cases in this group amounts to 110,852 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at fourteen days stands at 111.32 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at seven days at 61.80.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 57 people admitted for Coronavirus, of which five are in ICU and the rest, 52, in the plant. On the other hand, in the last seven days there have been three deaths, two in Tenerife and one in Gran Canaria. All cases, aged between 86 and 93 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.

Canary Islands remains at health risk of controlled circulation due to COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health has updated this Thursday the levels of health alert after the epidemiological report of the General Directorate of Public Health, carried out in accordance with the criteria of the Surveillance and Control Strategy of COVID-19 after the acute phase of the pandemic, based on the indicators of use of care services.
According to this report, all the islands remain at risk of controlled circulation, the lowest in the cataloging.
The indicators of use of health services, referring to bed occupancy are fundamentally those that mark the severity caused by COVID-19, and those that are taken into consideration to determine the level of health risk. In this way, five alert levels are established (from 0 to 4) that evaluate whether the situation is controlled circulation, which would be the lowest, or low, medium, high or very high risk.
Healthcare indicators
In the whole of the Autonomous Community, the daily average of conventional hospital beds occupied by COVID-19 patients stands at 0.97 percent. The level of risk in percentage of conventional bed occupancy is in controlled circulation or low risk in all islands.
Trend in ICU bed occupancy
The number of occupied ICU beds remains in controlled circulation on all islands, with an average weekly occupancy of five beds, representing an average occupancy rate of 0.95 per cent.
The ICU bed occupancy rate per 100,000 inhabitants averages 0.23 ICU beds occupied per 100,000 inhabitants, with all islands remaining in controlled circulation or at low risk level on all islands.
Incidence in people over 60 years of age
In the whole of the Autonomous Community, the Cumulative Incidence rate at seven days for people over 60 years of age stands at 63.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In this parameter, all islands remain at risk under or controlled circulation.
