Arrested in Fuerteventura after barricading himself in his home for seven hours for ill-treatment
It was necessary to activate a negotiator from the Civil Guard who applied the communication and persuasion techniques that allowed the situation to calm down after three hours of dialogue.
The Civil Guard of Morro Jable arrested a 34-year-old person on June 21 for the commission of several crimes of domestic abuse, threats, and attack on an agent of the authority by violently attacking the civil guards who were going to arrest him and locking himself inside his home, having to be necessary the activation of a negotiator.
The Events occurred on June 20, when the Civil Guard of the P. de Morro Jable Post was activated to act in a possible case of abuse in the family environment that occurred in the town of Costa Calma (Pájara).
Once on the scene, following the protocols of action in these cases, protection was given to the victim being transferred to official offices and later to a safe place. On the other hand, the Civil Guard moved to the town of Costa Calma to proceed with the arrest of the alleged perpetrator, this being impossible because he was locked inside the house.
The following day, to carry out the Police action, the Civil Guard went back to the author's home to carry out his arrest, reacting violently towards the agents, locking himself back in his home and throwing objects and belongings on the terrace towards all those present.
It so happens that the author barricaded himself in his home making several videos that were published on social networks making threats to harm himself or anyone who accessed the house.
Faced with this circumstance, the Civil Guard activated a negotiator, a specialized agent assigned to a Unit on the island of Fuerteventura to use communication and persuasion techniques to make it desist as it was a crisis situation of an entrenched man with threats of suicide.
For three hours this specialized negotiator applied the techniques of active listening, communication, and persuasion that allowed the situation to calm down and reduce tension, desisting from his intentions so finally, at about three in the afternoon, he left the home voluntarily, being arrested by members of the Civil Guard and attended by medical personnel, later leaving the detainee at the judicial disposal of the corresponding guard court of Puerto del Rosario.
