The Civil Guard has arrested three people in the town of Caleta de Fuste, in Fuerteventura, as alleged perpetrators of several robberies with violence. The operation is part of the reinforcement of security measures implemented in the area.
The investigation, carried out by agents of the Puerto del Rosario Post, began in March following various complaints filed by foreign citizens. The victims reported thefts both in hotel rooms and on public roads, some of them with physical violence.
Between the months of March and May, the bulk of the robberies were concentrated. Two particularly serious Events stand out. In the first, a citizen surprised one of those involved inside his holiday apartment, at the time of the robbery. When rebuked, the aggressor used violence to flee, causing injuries to the victim.
The second incident occurred on the public road, when one of the victims was approached by one of the arrested on a street with little traffic. After demanding his belongings, the assailant beat him repeatedly until he snatched two mobile phones.

In addition to the robberies with violence, the detainees allegedly made fraudulent use of stolen credit cards and sold gold items worth approximately 610 euros.
The Civil Guard continues with the judicial proceedings in coordination with the competent authority.
