Eight break-ins solved after spate of robberies in Corralejo
#1
Two men have been arrested in Fuerteventura in connection with a series of break-ins at restaurants and shops in the town of Corralejo. The arrests follow a detailed investigation by the Guardia Civil, which has now solved eight separate cases of robbery with force.

The suspects, aged 46 and 41, were detained on 4th July after several local businesses, including restaurants and retail outlets, filed Police reports. Some of the affected premises had been targeted more than once between December 2024 and June 2025.

The robberies were carried out at night. The detainees allegedly used rental cars, carefully hiding the number plates, and disguised themselves with wigs and costumes to avoid identification.

Their method was consistent across the incidents. They would force their way in by smashing the entrance doors using heavy tools such as hammers and bolt cutters. Once inside, they stole cash from tills, electronic devices, bottles of alcohol, and large quantities of tobacco. The stolen tobacco alone was worth over €10,000. In total, the value of stolen goods and Money is estimated at more than €22,500.

To identify the suspects, investigators conducted a thorough review of surveillance footage from various businesses and carried out discreet monitoring of possible future targets. This led to the discovery of distinctive physical features and clothing that matched the individuals caught on camera during the break-ins. Notably, the two men appeared to wear the same outfits during several of the crimes, helping officers confirm their identities.

The mounting evidence allowed Police to narrow down their search and arrest the two suspects, who have now been formally accused of seven counts of robbery with force.
