Spain's reported figures to the WHO are up 836 from Wednesday's 1308 to 2144. Changing the parameters by which numbers are collated purely to suit the narrative that one is trying to portray is manifestly dishonest.

Spain's reported figure to the WHO for 1st May are down 1626 from 2144 giving a total of new infections of 518. Nobody could be more delighted than I if these figures are remotely correct. The UK with its 2nd highest daily reported figure is a little alarming, I was hoping that they'd reached a plateau.

A rise today of 1263 on yesterday's figure of 518 giving a total of new infections in the last 24 hours of 1781. Sadly another rise for the UK giving them a new second highest daily figure since the beginning of this crisis. Spain's figures for this week compared to the previous week just don't instil me with any confidence as to their reliability. There are trends to be seen in all European countries columns, Spain however, less so.

Double post today for both Sunday and Monday. Sunday's reported figure for new infections was down 415 on the previous day's 1781 to an encouraging 1366 whilst Monday's figure was down a further 482 to just 884. Very, very encouraging if they are to be believed. The very fact only PCR tests now being counted has to have a serious impact on earlier figures.

Edit for forum user fail. Senile moment.

Another substantial decrease today. All European countries have encouraging figures today, nice to see. Spain today down a further 339 on yesterday's figure to a lowly 545, the lowest reported figure since 12th March.

Number of deaths in Spain from 2006 to 2018

This graph makes interesting viewing. Extrapolate that graph until 2020 and I don't think the projected figure will be too much different from the actual figure, (whatever that may be), even though Spain has been badly affected by COVID-19 this year.
I must admit I was shocked when I saw this!
Be interested to hear the views of others.

Spain's reported death toll currently stands at a little over 26,000. El Pais, consider the figure to be something in excess of 43,000. This is the figure which should be compared to the UK's 30,000. Far too much anti UK government going on in the media in recent days.

Totally agree about the media in recent days you can't compare apples with oranges.

We are never going to know the true figures. FullFacts (a facts checking site) have reported that between March 28 and
April 24, 37,471 'excess deaths above the average' (for time of year?) were reported.
