The Canary Islands Government Council, at the proposal of the Ministry of Tourism and Employment, has agreed this Tuesday to authorize a credit extension for an amount of 3,065,362.96 euros to finance the works on the coastal path on the Corralejo seafront, in La Oliva, and the conditioning works for compliance with the Accessibility Plan on Avenida Juan Carlos I.
Given the location of the intervention, the aim is to create a coastal path that offers continuity and homogeneity in the area, protecting and stabilising the coastal edge, facilitating its accessibility, continuing it with a walk adjacent to the maritime-terrestrial boundary and appropriately organising its uses.
The proposed coastal path, with a budget of 1,714,335.45 euros, will be built with light structures that allow for traffic. The route will include various activity areas, shaded areas and access to bathing areas and water sports.
On the other hand, the conditioning of roads and public spaces to comply with the Accessibility Plan on Avenida Juan Carlos I, which amounts to 1,351,027.51 euros, aims to demolish part of the existing road surface and affected services to proceed with the construction of a new pavement that guarantees the correct functioning of the free space and adapts it to accessibility regulations, providing it with a properly delimited cycle path with a sidewalk and roadway.
Both projects, which will be carried out by the La Oliva Town Council, have the technical projects and all the administrative authorisations, and are considered to be priorities for improving the infrastructure of the tourist enclave of Corralejo. These projects strictly comply with the objectives of the budgetary program called 'Tourist Infrastructures and Comprehensive Management of Tourist Centres.
