John is this for all post i.e. letters and birthday cards etc or is it just parcels / packages?
Morning John
To be absolutely honest I do not know, I have some documentation coming this week via my daughter, and although it has no value to any one than me, I have asked her to include a customs declaration including my email address.
Later today I will make a serious effort to find the article I read the only reason I read it was I have something coming from the UK, which I could not source anywhere else with a value close to £500, my daughter was due here last week but business commitments meant she had to cancel until June and I need it ASAP, so we used Parcelforce, £32 priority delivery includes tracking and insurance, it was posted 21/02/2022, and had not shown up on their tracking system by Thursday last, so I started to investigate, and read a number of articles, but for the life of me do not remember where this one was.
As a post script the package is still not showing on Parcelforce's tracking system, but Correos has it starting customs procedure, whether that is on the mainland or Las Palmas is not clear.

duapost.laspalmas@correos.com

So it was a Correos (ordinary post) item, not a courier company.

Thank you, sent them an email and they said it's not in their office so asked them for the Madrid email, here's to hoping

So after 11 days of the package sitting after clearing customs after I sent them every possible detail I could think of it's still sitting having been classified in logistics, got this email today

'As we indicated in previous messages, due to a computer incident, shipments addressed to the Canary Islands are experiencing delays in delivery.
We advise you to contact the sender of the shipment to process the appropriate incident at origin, as indicated by the International Postal Law.
Sorry for the inconvenience.'

Firstly they didn't indicate anything before and this is the first time hearing of computer problems and the sender can't process anything once it's in the hands of Correos, so it's now day 69 and I only know that by using tracking at parcelsapp.com as Correos tell you nada

This is unbelieveable, they did send a previous message but it went into my junk folder. They want me to contact my sister to open an investigation by Royal Mail as to why the Correos computer system failed, why do I feel this is starting to sound corrupt and Money may be brought up soon?

So I replied

'But we know what the problem was, your computer system failed, no need for any investigation. You have my package and you have every bit of information you need, just send it, it's already been paid for.'

I received this yesterday  it is now 21 days since it left the UK, and had been in Madrid for 18?

"Estimado Cliente,

We inform you that your shipment CP733149012GB is in Madrid, waiting to be sent to the Canary Islands.
We inform you that shipments to the Canary Islands are subject to customs management and the time spent on these procedures increases the delivery time.
Currently, this period is being somewhat longer than usual, due to certain failures in technology that have caused delays in shipments to the Canary Islands. We are working to minimize times, so that delivery is as fast as possible.
Sorry for the inconvenience
We remain at your disposal for any questions you may have"
