The only place that I would recommend is
Happy Plants at Tefia. Everything they sell has been tried and tested on the island. You can get lots of nice stuff at Oasis garden centre just outside Puerto but a lot of their stuff are imports that soon give up in our climate. If you know what you're getting their plants are fine but easy to get deceived thinking if they sell it it will grow - not so!
Baba has a garden centre in Corralejo opposite the
Football stadium, didn't seem to be open today when I went past. He seems to have less and less stock each time I pop in (pre
COVID), some bits I've bought there were OK, but a lot seems uncared for.
Back to my original statement, for good quality plants that stand a good chance of surviving go to
Happy Plants. Saskia and Paul give brilliant advice on what is suitable for your neck of the woods. I'm not sure of their current opening plans but under normal circumstances I can spend a couple of hours just wandering around looking at everything. They have a lot planted in the ground which gives a better idea of what you are letting yourself in for. Also sell nice pots and various Dutch substrates. They can be found on Facebook, which I don't do very often, Saskia said she would update that with opening details.
Good luck! Feel free to ask any questions, we'll do our best to help.
Ps, I've tried all sorts but nothing repels flies!
