How to get a Covid test in Fuerteventura?
#11
Hi
we are currently in Cotillo and return to the UK on Saturday 11th December, so will now have to take tests 2 days before departure ( as of 7th Dec rule change) so thanks for mentioning the Cotillo medical centre.
Will let you know how we get on.
GF

Dr. Daniel has moved his surgery since I posted sometime ago.

The Cotillo Medical Centre is now on the 'main street' Avinda Los Lagos,  on the left as you drive down, two blocks after the bowling green.  It is the premises formerly occupied by the laundry, before they moved elsewhere.

Phone number is unchanged and his hours are:
Mon - Sat 10.00 to 1.00
Mon - Fri 17.00 to 19.00.

Rapid flow tests for Mrs GF and myself (both negative) carried out with great efficiency at Cotillo Medical Centre this morning @€30.

We filled out questionnaire forms before the test with personal info. names, addresses dates of birth and passport numbers, then returned 20 minutes after the test to collect the result certificates which were printed out and contained all of the info. required by Uk immigration, including type of test and doctor's name and signature.

A minor inconvenience, all things considered. Now await the queue at the airport when some are bound not to have been notified of the requirement for negative tests from 7th Dec.

We did have emails from EasyJet yesterday (thursday) afternoon i.e. 48 hours before departure notifying us of the negative test requirement ... When the announcement to the rule change was on the 5th

Just arrived back in the UK, flight with EasyJet to Gatwick.
Passport stamped just prior to boarding at gate B1.  Passenger
Locator form and Antigen test certificate just given a cursory
glance prior to entering the boarding gate.  On arrival Gatwick
nothing checked, proceeded straight through the automatic passport
control and out of the airport.  Was expecting rather more.  At least
our passports were stamped.

I believe the Brizamar Medical Clinic in Corralejo is doing the required Lateral flow tests for 20 Euros. Not been yet as I don't leave for another 24 days!

Hope this helps

You don't say which part of the UK you will be returning to,  but I suggest you read the UK Government advice on entering the UK.

You can Google  "entering the UK from Spain"   or follow this link:

https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control

The requirements seem to change regularly!

Getting tested here is reasonably straight forward - depending on where you are on the island there are a number of  recommendations here on the Forum.
