How will we stop anyone to ruin this forum

I see this forum has now got its own thread on the old forum. Which has rapidly descended to the usual slanging match.

Ignore it - let them hurl insults at each other if that's what makes them happy!

I only found the invite this morning, but I am glad to be here. Will probably continue to use the old forum for at least a while as there is still some useful info there, but I'm hopeful that this one will allow the exchange of info without the exchange of insults! Thanks for taking on the burden of making the site; hopefully over time you will reel in some new people— and maybe even some the folks who chose to leave the old forum because of the behaviour there.

I don't think the people involved in creating that problem realise how they've made it so unwelcoming for others who don't want to be involved in their bickering, but as I always browsed by the "Most Recent Posts" link (as it was much faster than checking each individual sub-forum for new content), seeing all the fighting was inevitable. It also drowned out other content, since I spent so much time trying to scroll past the same insults over and over again that I'm sure I missed replies to the discussions I was actually interested in.

Thanks again for setting this place up; I look forward to participating here!

Couldn't have put it better myself Ducks well done. I hadn't been able to access the old forum for the last few days until late last eve and nowts changed same old same old yawn. I sincerely hope we can all keep this forum for what it should be in the future.

Sadly, the old forum has a hardcore of members who seemingly have no respect for others, who merely want to insult others, who alter quoted posts, and who have managed to effectively destroy what had been a lively and useful forum.  I think we're now seeing that Fuerteventura.click has rapidly become the preferred forum.

I've seen that the Admin guy on the old forum has seemingly woken up and is starting to lock threads (although I'm mystified as to why he doesn't simply delete them).  I see he's just locked a thread in which I have been accused of using the private messaging system on the old forum to recruit members here - this is a complete lie, I haven't done that. 

As for 5 months, I'm doubtful whether the old forum will now last that long!
