Obtaining a Digital Certificate / Digital Signature
#11
Well, good news went to the hospital with the good directions from the posters on here. Just like to add that when you go up to the first floor its immediate left you turn and go through the doors that say Salida (exit) I was a bit confused and went along the wrong corridor as thought I shouldn`t go through an exit door. Eventually, when I went back to the lifts and did go through the Salida door I managed to get to the Drago office with the excellent directions.

Senor Augustin wasn`t in and was told he would be back in 30 minutes, so sat in hospital on comfy seats in X ray area. Went back after 30 minutes and the office was locked up. Decided they must have gone for lunch, so went into Rosario and went back when I thought they would have finished their lunch. When I got back Senor Augustin was there and finished the process.

With some trepidation, I booted up and received an email to complete the process. However, my laptop at the last part was failed me, their system rejected saying my key was not accepted. After realising that there had been a Microsoft update and I had used some utilities to clean up my registry I did a system restore to an earlier date then tried it with no luck. I then did an uninstall of the system restore and then my laptop successfully got through and I managed to get the electronic signature at last.

Off to have a drink and a lie down.

Thanks again for the earlier pioneers of the process as your help was very much appreciated,

Just a quick update. Friends went to the hospital today to prove who they were and were turned away because they didn't have a prior appointment.

As soon as I find out how to get such an appointment, I will post further information.

Tom.

Further update:

Sr. Augustin doesn't do this process anymore, it has been moved to the Administration Office in the basement. Have yet to establish exactly where this office is!

My friends rang for an appointment and were told to turn up any weekday morning between 8 and 9!!

Bit more of an update for you:

The lady who now deals with proving your identity at the hospital is Encarnacion Maria Rosales Alvarez (known as Encari).

To find her office, these are the directions she gave me (in Spanish), so it's a Google Translation!!

Enter the hospital by the main front entrance.
Pass the main reception desk to the right and go down a corridor.
Pass the Admissions Office.
At a junction in the corridor, go left, signed Management (Gerencia)
Third door on the right is the office for Encarni.

To contact Encarni:
erosalv@gobiernodecanarias.org

928 28 27 33

She speaks very little English (but is very apologetic, and tries very hard, bless her).

Tom.

A bit more of an update for you.  The directions in the post above are not correct, please don't follow them. Those directions were given to me by a couple I sent to see Sr. Augustin on the first floor, and he doesn't do them anymore. They followed his directions to the new location but got a bit lost on the way.

I sent another couple this week and they very kindly recorded their route and prepared the attached sheet. It sounds like it has gone back to the original location!

Encarni is SUPER HELPFUL. To the point that she offered today to stay after her finishing time, to help me resolve an issue in her own time, super brilliant service. I would give her a big hug if it wasn't for COVID!!

Tom.

PS. Problem resolved with her help on the phone (an outdated copy of IE).

I am very keen to be able to view my online account for various bills and information, so many thanks for all the information in this thread. Our location means we belong to Puerto del Rosario ayuntamiento. I understand I need to obtain a Digital Certificate, and that one of the steps in getting this can be arranged at the hospital. However, if we go back to the very beginning of the process - where do I start? Do I need to initiate the whole process through a website? I have never been registered online before for ayuntamiento or anything like that. Any help greatly appreciated!  Smile

Thanks Tom. At first reading I didn't quite catch what website to access, but looking around a bit more carefully I found this landing page really useful:

https://www.sede.fnmt.gob.es/certificado...o-software

I've sent an email to Encarni requesting an appointment, so the ball is rolling!  Thumbs Up

Thanks for everyone contributing to this thread - I've now got the Digital Certificate, and it all seems to be working fine. To confirm my identity I went to the hospital as suggested earlier in this thread. The directions were great and indeed Maria Alvarez very helpful!  Smile
