Another uninteresting statistic, of the last 100 posts all with the exception of 1 from jand re volcanic activity all have been in the son of dross section.

We shouldn't really be surprised. The old forum is no longer fit for purpose. It's actually very tragic— it was such an amazing source of information and support to us when we were looking to purchase here first some years ago. I know it's helped a lot of other people, and a lot of work was put into it. The whole thing is a sobering example of how easy it is for a couple of people to spoil a good thing for everyone by being childish. While I don't always agree with the prevailing opinion here, I remain very grateful that disagreements are not allowed to spiral out of control and render the site unusable.

Thanks John,
It is sad what happened to the old forum. The worst part was it was so avoidable.

Happy Birthday to us, happy birthday to us, happy birthday Fuerte.click, happy birthday to us!
It's the 3rd anniversary of this forum getting off the ground/running blocks! What a long way we and it have come, and 99.9% of it without dissent - a big worry in the early days. I think we have proved that a public forum can be polite and sensible while being informative, helpful and fun. It has been a fantastic source of info during the pandemic and a mental health support tool for many - what would we have done without this resource over the last 20 months? Now it is proving it's worth keeping us up to date on the volcanic Events on our sister island, La Palma. I could pick out a number of people for special mentions for their regular updates on a variety of subjects but I think we, and they, know who they are! My thanks, and I'm sure the thanks of everyone reading this, for their sterling efforts. My special thanks to Sam, for providing us with this platform and sorting out any bugs as they've occurred. And to all the other Mods who deal with the day to day rubbish such as spammers. Of course many, many thanks to all the members - without you this would be a pointless exercise. Long may you continue to be members and encourage others to join us. Forum Stats as of now:

Thanks for the reminder Tamara, time flies by, it only seems like yesterday that we started the forum with the drive from Sam, thanks to all who contribute as it keeps us up to date with what is going on Fuerteventura even when we are back in our other abodes.
