I've just read on Facebook that it was a repatriation plane for Italians. It picked passengers up here and in Gran Canaria.

When we checked on Flight Radar it came up as NEOS an Italian airline and had come from Gran Canaria, it looked like a TUI plane

I'm noticing that FlightRadar isn't catching a lot of planes lately. A couple of times this week, I've heard something fly over and went there to check it, and according to them, the skies were clear. FlightAware seems to be performing better right now, though it's not as fun to use as FlightRadar as each flight opens as a separate page.

There's one coming into GC from Africa now, actually, which I've seen a couple of recently. Are all flights in repatriation flights, or are they allowing travellers inwards from outside of the EU? I don't think there have been any non-repatriation flights from any EU destination besides mainland Spain.

She is compiing a list of people who may need help and is in discussions with the British Embassy to see what may be able to be arranged at some time. Send her an email explaining your circumstances so you won't be forgotten should an uexpected direct flight to the UK from Fuerteventura come about!!

Hi all!
I have given all my details to Debbie but have decided not to wait any longer and we are booked on the Iberia flight to Madrid on Monday and onward flight to Heathrow on Tuesday. We have booked into the Tyrp Madrid airport suites overnight.

Having looked at the Government advice page I am worried about the part which came into force yesterday, it states;

"The Spanish authorities have confirmed that travellers transiting through Spain are also exempt as long as they travel home directly and do not spend the night in any establishment in Spain"

I have asked The Consulate for advice but their reply was just to refer me to The web pages!  Any thoughts or advice would be welcome!

Unfortunately, it looks fairly obvious to me "as long as they travel home directly and do not spend the night in any establishment in Spain" as you are staying it would appear you will not be exempt, but with the Spanish authorities ho knows

I wondered if, during translation, they may have missed the word "International" travellers .  It doesn't make any sense to insist we quarantine for 14 days in Madrid when we have been here since before the lockdown?

Would the fact that you are coming from the Canaries not make you exempt already? They've been very clear about including the islands in their plan for Spanish territories, and I am guessing they do not include people travelling within Spain, as there is no quarantine period for people coming here from Madrid or for people from here going to the other islands?

As for us, our June Ryanair flights were cancelled this morning. We have rebooked for a later flight with no problems. We'll see if that one actually goes, though!  Big Grin

Thank you for your reply - this is what I was hoping would be The case.

I have had another reply from the Consulate apologising for not answering my original question.  They then went on to provide me with a link to the list c hotels which are authorised to be open!!!

So they still haven't answered my question!

Will keep going and let you know how we get on - we certainly can't be the only ones affected.
