Rescued in extremis from drowning in Corralejo this Sunday.
Several young people found themselves in trouble at sea, one of them was taken to hospital with signs of moderate drowning and another with an anxiety attack.
Around 18:30 p.m. this afternoon, two people were transferred after an event where several young people were about to drown in Corralejo.
At that time the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing that there were several people in distress at sea.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
Shortly after, the alerters informed 1-1-2 that they had rescued all the people but that some of them needed medical assistance.
In this way, a 20-year-old man who, at the first moment of assistance, shows signs of moderate drowning transferred in a medicalized ambulance to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura Virgen de la Peña.
In addition, another 21-year-old man who, at the first moment of assistance, presents a mild anxiety crisis transferred in a basic life support ambulance to the Corralejo Health Center.
The SUC staff assisted those affected at the scene of the incident and transferred them to the aforementioned health centers.
Firefighters collaborated with health resources in the transfer of patients to ambulances.
The Local Police and the Civil Guard collaborate with the emergency services.
