Ryanair refund update in detail
#1
Just seen this on Ryanair site but don't know when it was posted :-
Refund Update
The processing of cash refunds is taking longer than normal as we have experienced over 1,000 times the normal volume of flight cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Until the end of May, we also had 75% fewer office staff available to process refunds due to social distancing restrictions.
Since our Dublin offices reopened in June, additional refund staff have been trained to eliminate the backlog of refund requests with the following results:
  • All cash refund requests for flights in March were cleared by 30 June.
  • 50% of cash refund requests for flights in April were cleared by 30 June.
  • All remaining cash refund requests for flights in April will be cleared by 15 July.
  • All cash refund requests for flights in May and most of June will be cleared by 31 July.
  • All cash refund requests for flights in July and August will be cleared by 31 August.

Customers who received a voucher can redeem it within 12 months.  If you don't redeem your voucher within 12 months, you can obtain a cash refund after this period.
While free flight changes and vouchers have been processed automatically, we are working hard to process cash refund requests as quickly as we can. We sincerely apologise for these unavoidable refund delays which are due to the unprecedented volume of Government-imposed flight cancellations caused by COVID-19.  We sincerely thank customers for their patience.[/size]
