Seven arrested in Fuerteventura for the 2021 La Solapa double homicide released
Two men were found dead and one of the bodies had a bullet wound in the back.
The Court of Instruction number 7 of Puerto del Rosario has taken statements this Thursday from seven people arrested in Fuerteventura in recent days for their alleged involvement in the homicide or murder of two men whose bodies appeared on the beach of La Solapa in January 2021.
After giving a statement before the court, the detainees have been provisionally released, according to the press office of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC).
All of them must appear in court on the 1st and 15th of each month, the TSJC has indicated.
The Police operation, carried out jointly by the Civil Guard and the National Police, began last Tuesday in the Fabelo neighborhood of Puerto del Rosario when the arrest of one of the arrested was carried out.
The arrest took place at a home in the neighborhood as mentioned above, where a search was carried out by the operation formed by agents displaced from Gran Canaria and the Judicial Police.
That home was also the subject of a Police operation in 2021 for drug trafficking that resulted in the arrest of three men, and which was then associated with the discovery of the bodies on La Solapa beach, in the municipality of Pájara, on January 13, 2021.
One of the bodies was found inside a car that had supposedly fallen off a cliff and the other was found when the vehicle was removed. One of the bodies had a gunshot wound to the back.
In the days after the search in the Fabelo neighborhood, the operation continued in other parts of the island, sources related to the case told EFE.
