Thanks for this update! Good to know, that makes a lot more sense.

Wasn't yesterday morning when I was at Spar, but that was early morning. Maybe later in the day? Mercadona update:

CALETA: MERCADONA

Chocolate is back on the menu! Everything in full stock today except one brand of toilet paper (and of course hand sanitiser, etc.). Good stock of absolutely everything. Not as busy as last week at all. New procedure at the door now: you're asked if you want a small trolley or a big one, and someone will fetch that for you and wipe it down while someone else does the gel/gloves routine with you (you're not even allowed to dispense gel for yourself now, I suppose in case someone tries to steal it!). Very sedate experience, though the girl on the checkout was really trying to get my stuff through at such a rapid clip I couldn't even get half of it back into the trolley before she was finished! They're doing great out there, though, we are really lucky.

CALETA: LIDL

They've stopped doing their middle-of-the-shop deals now and are selling food items only. No medicines available (if they ever had them— are they allowed in Spain? I've never seen them in Mercadona or Spar the way you would at Tesco et al back home), but everything else in robust quantities. Good sanitation procedures, too. Busier than Mercadona, but nobody at the checkouts.

Still a much better experience than back home!

Thankfully not! Police were parked outside the shop, but weren't interacting with anyone that I saw.

Have you heard anyone saying they got turned back? I just walked from Caleta town.

Question
I went into Atlantico around 11:30 Sunday and the health shop was open.  I think the opening hours on the door were something like 10:00 to 14:00.  Not sure if this was just for the Sunday or for all week.

I drove past last Friday and they were stopping everyone going in, but have no idea about anyone being turned back.

Just been to Lidl & Mercadona, processes much as described.  Drive includes 5 roundabouts there and 5 back and not a Police or garda civil car to be seen.

Received a phone call yesterday from the Health Centre changing my Monday appointment to today, no issues with that so I went and did the weekly shop while I was out, Lidl,s  car park had 3 Guardia and 4 soldiers stood around, While Mercadonna,s car park had 6 soldiers, none of them were interacting with anyone, but still a tad unnerving.
Incidentally, while I was at the Health  Centre, they were using large quantities of what smelled like diluted disinfectant, all over the road, pavements, and walkway up to the medical centre. {The cleaning lady in the health Centre was not at all amused }

They've been spraying our village centre with that every other day, pavement outside shop and bar (even though closed!), the general bins and the recycling containers, the bus stops and the post box!
