• While the final project to improve the area is being completed, the Antigua City Council is recovering and refurbishing an abandoned area in the centre of the town by enabling around twenty parking spaces.
• The temporary intervention allows beautifying, taking advantage of and giving security to this main area of Caleta de Fuste.
• An intervention of minimal cost but with a broad public benefit of profit, beautification and safety.
The City Council of Antigua from the Technical Office is working on the drafting and next tender of an action project in a central area in Caleta de Fuste, in which the execution of an underground car park and a green area for leisure and rest is planned, explains the mayor, Matías Peña García.
While this project is being completed, the mayor adds, the City of Antigua from the Department of Traffic will soon begin the specific actions of conditioning a part of the intervention area, enabling a score of public parking spaces.
The mayor has visited this site together with the Councilor for Traffic, Samuel Torres, the Councilor for Tourism, Kristina Rodewig and the Deputy Chief Inspector of the Local Police of Antigua, Domingo Fránquiz to coordinate and speed up a small and temporary action that allows its benefit by the neighbors, while beautifying and providing security to the space conditioned to park or park the vehicle.
The temporary action to take advantage of this area will consist of the removal of the boundary fence, cleaning of the environment, opening of access with security road cameras and conditioning and painting the space determining the public parking spaces for general use and those indicated for use by people with reduced mobility.
