Hi guys just to let you know we went to the Centro de Salud near the bus station, today, but were directed to the brand new Centro de Salud ,  address Presidennte Santiago Hormiga, Esquina Presidente Juan Negrin    tel 928 11 2500.

We just walked in and within 5 minutes had our 4th booster and a flu jab.   The nurses were lovely and keen to practice their English!   We took our TIE's and previous vaccination certificates and had no problem.

Very very nice building.

Hope it helps.

Yes, that's a great Centro Salud (known as Centro Salud II), and easy parking!
(For general info that's where they have had the Mammogram testing caravan in the past as well.)

Radio Sintonia:

Vaccination of the second booster dose against COVID-19 for people under 60 years of age has started.

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands begins today, Tuesday, December 20, the process of inoculation of the new multivalent COVID-19 vaccines adapted to the Omicron variants to the population under 60 years of age. From now on, the population between 12 and 59 years old who do not have risk factors will be able to receive this second booster dose also called the booster dose.

Therefore, vaccination coverage against COVID-19 continues to be expanded with the aim of continuing to control the transmission of the Coronavirus and prevent the most severe cases. Until now, this second dose was administered to people with previous pathologies and those over 60 years of age, as well as to the population residing in centers for the elderly and other centers of care for the disabled.

In total, 186,539 people over 60 years of age or with chronic pathologieshave already completed their vaccination schedule with this second booster dose in the Canary Islands.

To receive this second booster dose, people under 60 must make an appointment either through the SCS app or website or by calling 012 (922 470 012 or 928 301 012).

Whento administer the second booster dose

The booster dose can be given at least five months after the last dose received against COVID-19.

In the case of having presented a recent Coronavirus infection, all people residing in nursing homes and disability care centers, those over 80 years of age and people with a high degree of immunosuppression must wait at least three months after the infection to receive this booster dose, always within the five-month interval between doses.

People between 60 and 79 years old will have to wait five months from infection.

Multivalent vaccines

The new multivalent vaccines, used as booster doses, can enhance and amplify the immune response and, consequently, protection against all clinical manifestations.

Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the recommendations to start vaccination if it has not been done and to complete the vaccination schedule even if the disease has passed.

Hybrid immunity
In relation tothe roleof hybrid immunity(by vaccination and by post-infection immunity), it should be considered thatpeople who have had a SARS-CoV-2 infection may benefit from vaccination, since it has been observed that the immune response in futureexposures toSARS-CoV-2 is more robust and alsomore robust. s Broad compared to that achieved in people who have received vaccine or who have only passed the infection, and with better protectionagainst new variants and subvariants.

We could not have ours on the anniversary because we both got "it" ( we think in the Rotunda)
We called in at the salud in Corralejo 4 + weeks later to see what the time interval between having COVID and getting a 4th Jab was.
They said 4 weeks followed by do you want it now.So we did, very impressive.
