Good morning from Caleta on The Winter Solstice, the day with least daylight hours or as some people often say  "The Shortest Day" but there are still 24hrs in the days    

Yesterday very much as forecast temperatures were higher than anticipated, the cloud did build about 5pm to give an interesting sunset.

                                       

This morning at 7am 14C, 50 to 60% cloud cover, light breeze, and a lot of condensation / dew 

   

Todays Caleta forecast - The forecast has been downgraded slightly to have some cloud cover this morning to clear at 2pm for rest of day, temperature to reach 22c with a UV factor of 4 at mid-day, humidity averaging 80% through the day with visibility 16km+.
Wind from the N this morning at 8 to 12mph moving ENE at 12noonremaining at 12mph for rest of afternoon easing slightly at 7pm.

Tindaya - Friday

Cold gales dominated the day, eased off early evening. Lots of sun but I couldn't get warm all day except when walking briskly (and well wrapped up!).

Morning from Caleta - Yesterday not quite as forecast as the cloud didn't clear as much as forecast during the afternoon but temperature did get in to the mid to high 20'sC

The last picture shows the difference by arrows in the sunsets between 21/12 on left and on 21/6 on the right 

                               

This morning at 7.30 11C, very chilly, a lot of condensation / dew, a few thin high wispy clouds and a wonderful sunrise.

                     

Todays Caleta forecast - When I look out of the window and compare it to what AccuWeahter say I think they have it wrong we actually have a clear cloudless sky looking SW but they say 42%+ cloud cover  ;D ;D ;D  Any way they say the cloud will clear by mid-day to leave a sunny afternoon with temperatures reaching 22C at 3pm with a UV factor of 4 at 12noon, visibility good at 16km+ and humidity averaging 50% from late morning.
Wind from the WNW at the moment 8am to 11am 8 to 10mph moving N then SE by 2pm at 13mph moving back NE late afternoon and easing down to 7mph.

Be warned there is an increase number of flights due today with all those Christmas Visitors  ;D ;D

Good morning from Caleta not quite as early as MLA - Yesterday was better than forecast we had a clear sunny day all day with little wind.

 
 

This morning at 7am a little warmer than the last few mornings @ 16C, no condensation as we have a moderate wind, and a clear sky and the odd wispy cloud to the east over the sea.

 


Todays forecast - A mix of sun and cloud with full cloud cover from 7pm this evening, no rain forecast, temperature to reach 21C at 3pm but will feel cooler in todays wind, UV factor of up to 4 at mid-day, humidity averaging 55% today with good visibility at 16km+
Wind from SSE at 24mph moving slightly to SE at 12noon then ESE easing down steadily to 10mph by 8pm.

Tomorrow morning MV Queen Elizabeth berths in PDR at 8am so probably sail past Caleta between 6 & 7am
