The Civil Guard arrests a person in Fuerteventura as the perpetrator of a robbery with violence.
The Civil Guard of Fuerteventura arrested on February 23, 2024, a 32-year-old person with a Police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation, by struggling with a person and pushing violently, snatching the victim's wallet from his hands to finally run away from the place with the loot, in the town of Caleta de Fuste.
The Civil Guard became aware of the facts, on September 16, 2023, through a complaint made by the victim of the robbery, who showed that, on the afternoon of that same day, she was assaulted by a man when she was about to access the portal of the urbanization where she lives, suffering minor injuries as a result of the struggle.
The Events unfolded in such a way that, after the victim left a supermarket, located near his home, he was quietly pursued by the perpetrator of the robbery. Once the woman was opening the door of her portal, the thief took advantage of the ideal moment, given the small number of people in the area, and taking advantage of his physical superiority over the victim, he pushed her violently, snatching her wallet from her hands, to finally run away from the place with the loot. The victim tried to track the assailant, however, it was impossible for the victim to catch up with him.
After learning of the facts, the Civil Guard began the investigation work, which was seriously hindered, given the scant descriptive information that the victim provided in reference to the assailant.
In this way, numerous surveillance cameras located in different areas of the town of Caleta de Fuste were viewed, thus locating and being able to determine the modus operandi used by the alleged perpetrator during the commission of the criminal act.
After months of investigation, the investigators culminated in the identification of a man known for his Police record, who, in addition, had recently been linked to other Events of a similar nature in the same locality, a circumstance that, together with the photographic recognition of the perpetrator by the victim, facilitated the attribution of the robbery to this person.
With all the evidence obtained, on February 23, by the Civil Guard of Puerto del Rosario, a strong Police device was established in the tourist town of Caleta de Fuste, in which the arrest of the assailant was achieved, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation.
Once the corresponding proceedings were completed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the Court on duty in Puerto del Rosario.
