And the email they are sending out:
Movistar, we work permanently so that your relationship with us is as transparent as possible and thus earn your trust day by day. That is why we want you to be aware of relevant information related to the privacy of your data.
Movistar's security team has detected unauthorized access to the technical or configuration data of some equipment that provides the services associated with your landline telephone number (router, TV decoder, Wi-Fi amplifier, etc.).
These technical or configuration data do not allow your direct identification since they are the unique identifier of the device (the MAC) and details of the manufacturer of the equipment, configuration of the connection ports, name of the Wi-Fi network and its password.
For your peace of mind, we have immediately taken the necessary measures so that this circumstance does not occur again, and we confirm that no other data or information of a sensitive nature is affected (name and surname, postal address, billing information, bank account , call details,…).
The stolen data cannot be exploited remotely, the only way to use it is to be physically within the access range of your WIFI. We recommend that you change the access password to your WIFI to increase the security of your network and avoid possible unwanted access. It is advisable to perform this update periodically. You can do this in a very simple way, we show you how in the following link: https://www.movistar.es/claverouter
For more information, you can contact us through the Movistar Data Protection Delegate, who can be addressed through the address DPO_Movistar@telefonica.com
We want to apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause you. We remind you that we are at your disposal in 1004.
Thanks for trusting us.
