We're still getting Christmas cards, in the UK from early December.
But these were posted in the UK!!

And yesterday just received a letter from Essex that took 5 weeks to reach Hampshire. So, maybe the slow post is down to the good old-fashioned Royal Mail inefficiency (again).

That's interesting Archer, and sad, but good to know as we tend to assume the problems are in Spain /Canaries.

Here's an interesting article in Spanish about the postal delays in the Canary Islands:

https://www.canarias7.es/politica/correo...47-nt.html

I've just had a small package arrive today from Germany that was sent on 19 November.  I've also had similar delays with packages from France & Portugal.

Here's another article about Correos:

https://www.eldiario.es/canariasahora/so...08009.html

I get the impression that without a NIE number, packages either remain in limbo or are returned to the sender.

It mentions "Correos has established a contingency plan "to complete the information on shipments and release their final distribution to the homes of all Canarians as soon as possible"."  but as far as I can see it does not go into more detail.
