I’ve just had a parcel arrive today from the UK that was sent on 18
November. That’s 4 months minus 1 day!
I’m still waiting for several other packages from France, Germany and Portugal.
I quite often buy items from a Spanish eBay seller. They need my NIE and the package is accompanied by three pages of customs paperwork for an item that costs about 8€!
Here is some info on packages that have managed to get through. The best one was from Malta with no NIE that only took 6 days to arrive:
Sent from France on 10
November with no NIE. Arrived 30
December
Sent from the UK on 10
December with no NIE. Arrived 13
January
Sent from Germany on 13
December with NIE. Arrived 24
February
Sent from Germany on 21
December with no NIE. Arrived 22
February
Sent from Malta on 25
January with no NIE. Arrived 31
January
Sent from the UK on 14
February with NIE. Arrived 3 March

We inform you that your shipment RN776997775GB is in the customs center of Madrid waiting to be sent to the Canary Islands.
The adaptation to the new treatment in the Canary Islands took place on
November 15.
Due to it, there have been certain failures in the technology that have caused the delay in shipments to the Canary Islands.
From Correos we are working to resolve this situation and that the shipments continue their course as soon as possible.
In the next few days you will have new
Events of your shipments and your situation will be updated. If this is not done, we suggest that you contact the sender so that they can file the appropriate incident at the origin.
We apologize for all the inconvenience caused.
What happened on
November 15th in the Canaries?
This is why according to the universal postal service which surveyed 170 countries the Correos fell in at 37th place
Day 71 in the big brothers house and waiting....

Thanks for that explanation
So they've changed their management structure, lets hope the new blood make changes. At the moment they expect the sender to go back to the post office to make an investigation when last time the post office in the UK have literally said it's out of their hands so just stuck

There are very huge delays in delivery to the Canaries as post from the UK is being held up in Madrid. There are 40,000 parcels waiting there to be distributed. Correos cannot cope with the new technology installed in Madrid and as a result there are delivery delays of 3-4 months.

The Correos have finally admitted they have lost the package and told me to contact the sender to make a claim but they seem to be saying I have up to 21 days from date of postage to make a claim but it's over 70 so far, nightmare!

That's the exact same email as I got, I told them to check their cctv to see who pinched it in the logistics center as it had passed customs and was classified

Mine was classified in the logistics centre, then 9 days ago it was awaiting presentation to customs, which is where it has been ever since.

Then it's passed logistics from another center into the one you're at now and will go through logistics at the airport exchange where mine was before they lost it
