Correos Delivery
#91
On Saturday last, I sent them an email expressing disbelief that in 2022 a new system installed 4 months ago could have delayed deliveries even more, and suggesting i would have probably received it faster in 1822. at 03:00 this morning I received an email saying my package is now awaiting clearance in Las Palmas, this after spending 10 day's awaiting customs clearance in Madrid, more BS I am sure, but it provides more evidence for my upcoming claim, the package itself is reasonably valuable, and is insured, so no issue there as it is easily replaceable, my issue is it also contains documents that have no intrinsic value but are delaying a business deal I am putting together, as due to some archaic UK law I have to sign the original documents. not photo copies or anything other than the originals. I should have listened to management who wanted me to either fly back sign them and fly back, or not send them in the same package, hindsight is a wonderful thing. Rolleyes Rolleyes

"I'm not sure what was in the parcel but if you bought something and it got lost (no matter where) the seller/sender is fully responsible. Just ignore whatever Correos is saying, contact the seller and they'll have to compensate you. It's not fair to the seller and ethically Correos should be paying for the loss but that's how it works."

Not in this case, the sender is my sister who was sending me her secondhand mobile, she paid the Royal Mail to deliver it, so it's up to them to claim off Correos afterward but has to compensate my sister now. But at the moment I'm stuck with my years old phone that can only manage less than a meg download speed as at the moment I simply can't afford a decent one.

The saga continues
the Item originated in The USA, from a friend of mine, but his company for some reason will not ship to a number of places which includes The Canary Islands, so it went via my daughter in The UK:-

18/02 left New York
23/02 Arrived at my daughters home
23/02 posted in the UK
26/02 arrived in Madrid
02/03 Started customs process
30/03 flagged as in Las palmas but missing necessary customs documentation.

It appears although I can return the paper work via email, they cannot send it tome electronically, so has to be poste Rolleyes Rolleyes Rolleyes Rolleyes

I have been emailing them for 10/12 days and getting nowhere, just got the stock reply, so yesterday I mailed them saying I had contacted my insurers who as it was sent tracked required to know where was the last point it was inputted into their system? and miraculously at 00:02 this morning there it is, what a wonderful service, I am so happy.

It has to be added I also believe in Unicorns Leprechauns and Fairies

One of my packages from Portugal dispatched on 9 December with a NIE number and the necessary documentation arrived today.

It has taken 111 days to get here!

Fingers crossed that the other package will arrive.

If DHL and other companies just use Correos to do their work for them is there any way to avoid this joke of a delivery service?

Ok so I received an email last Tuesday telling me that a delivery letter would be generated and delivered by post asap, and that it was not possible to email it to me, but I could email it back, it had not arrived  yesterday so I emailed again asking how long it could possibly take in the 21st century to generate  and get a letter delivered? this morning I have received an email asking me to email them my receipt, proof of payment and TIA, which I now have sent, we await developments
