Politics, I'm afraid. AEMET said wind no worse than normal
Shame, as all the arrangements and entertainment was all scheduled.

Great Shame as you say Archer, I think GT is a much nicer port  Smile Smile  to dock in as PDR is rather a commercial port for the container ships and not very nice if your Liner has to dock on what I would call the eastern dock where the cranes are   Sad Sad

Thank you for the warning that the ship is not in GT, we were already on our way there.

It is just not going to happen is it, they could not get her out of there last time around, and she was delayed by nearly a day, they run a business and even the chance of that happening again is too much of a risk, either the Harbour needs enlarging or they need a tug there as a means of moving her if required, The Island government needs to sort it or forget GT as a Cruise liner port.

My aunts were on the Balmoral, as mentioned by WindermereGolfer, and they were told on Thursday evening that they wouldn't be docking there the next day due to the Weather. As has been mentioned before, this was either due to poor Weather forecast information or more likely 'political'. My wife and I met my aunts in PDR and took them to GT via Antigua and Tuineje to see what they had missed. They both agreed it was a shame the ship didn't berth there and really liked the look of GT. You had to feel sorry for the bars and restaurants on the front who geared up for the extra business and the ayuntamiento who laid Events on.

I see The Balmoral is berthed in PR this morning but berthed the side where Cargo ships are berthed,  I wonder why that is?

Fred Olsen's "Braemar" is the likely candidate.
