I went for a walk over there five days ago. Works are proceeding indeed. I was wondering whether Playa Blanca

is a natural one or man-made. To me it looks like a natural one, different from the one in Los Pozos

, which seems made of broken shells and which should then be man-made; but nice all the same.

Radio Sintonia:
The expansion works of the maritime avenue of Puerto del Rosario seem to be coming to an end.
The mayor of the City Council of Puerto del Rosario, Juan Jiménez, accompanied by the insular director of the General State Administration, Domingo Fuentes, the Councilor for Works and Contracting, Peña Armas, and also the Councilor for
Beaches and Tourism, Sonia Álamo, announced this Friday the start at the beginning of January of the paving corresponding with natural stone to the expansion work of the maritime avenue that runs between the neighborhood of Los Pozos and Playa Blanca, after the signing of the stakeout act that has been carried out today in the place with the winning company, Transportes y Construcciones Pedro Gopar S.L., which will execute the works for a value of 709,998.48 euros, plus 7% of the IGIC, which makes a total of 759,698.38 euros.
The incorporation of the corresponding platelets in 8,500 square meters to this maritime avenue will conclude a large-scale work such as this, extremely important and emblematic for both the municipality and Fuerteventura, in which the City Council of Puerto del Rosario has worked together with the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, to take it forward and thus fulfill a historic milestone, with a dream of years that will be a reality in the coming months.
This new stretch of avenue that would connect the capital with the area of Playa Blanca through 1.5 kilometers, houses a pedestrian promenade about six meters wide and different accesses to the different beaches and coves.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, Juan Jiménez, has always defended that the maritime avenue to Playa Blanca "is an idea dreamed of for decades and that, shortly, will be completed. Today we sign with the company the execution of the last stretch of work that remains to realize this dream of many years, which is to have a maritime avenue from Los Pozos to Playa Blanca.
This work is the most emblematic that Puerto del Rosario may have seen in recent years, assuming the paradigm shift of what has been the life of the last 50 years in Puerto del Rosario, so that you can actively look at the sea again and live it with all the benefits that the action will offer in its 5 kilometers in total, and in an idyllic setting," concluded the municipal president.
For the Councilor for Works, Peña Armas, "it is a pride to have carried out this project and that, finally, it is a reality for all those who visit us and for all our citizens. The project is carried out from the councils that I hold, Works and Contracting, hoping that, in a matter of six months, it will be completed so that, as soon as possible, all the neighbors of Puerto del Rosario can enjoy this wonder of avenue ".
Domingo Fuentes, insular director of the General State Administration, for his part, representing the Government of Spain in Fuerteventura, has expressed his satisfaction "because the project to complete the promenade from Puerto del Rosario to the Hotel El Mirador in Playa Blanca has been unblocked thanks to the streamlining by the City Council of all the procedures to award a new company the execution of these paving works that would culminate this historic work".
