Hello, anyone else in Tindaya area also without water? It's been 4 days now for us the tank has been empty so must've been going on longer than that. Caaf yesterday told us they hoped to have it working again by today, but today there is still nothing

The consortium warns of a water cut in areas of Puerto del Rosario
The works on the highway will cause this 10-hour cut that will affect many areas of the municipality
The Water Supply Consortium reports a cut scheduled for this Wednesday,
October 2 from 8:00 a.m., lasting about 10 hours.
The consortium's technicians warn that this is due to the diversion of a pipeline that is affected by the execution of the works on the highway.
The affected areas are, according to the consortium, Risco Prieto, Rosa Vila, Las Granadas, Playa Blanca and La Mareta.

I have seen this thread running all the years i have been on this forum and felt fortunate to have an apartment on the golf course where water never seems to be a problem.
I would however appreciate any words of wisdom regarding the water supply up in the villages, we have been looking at purchasing a property and slightly concerned at reading this thread that the water seems unreliable at best.
I appreciate on a dry island proplems will arise but wondering if this is island wide or concentrated in certain areas. We were looking at properties around the Antigua region (Casillas de Morales across to Triquivijate) last week and also interested around the Villaverde area. Some properties seem to have large storage tanks to store water for when the supply is off.
Thank you.

Hi Jason,
Things are getting (slightly) better. There has been major engineering to replace the main distribution network for the whole island. If you drive around, look out for large quantities of blue plastic pipes. Very few in La Olivia now, as the works are complete or very nearly complete, but I'm sure other areas will still have them.
Almost all properties have a water storage tank, 500 litres or so. This ensures a supply even when the supply is interrupted. There are some properties without storage, and they notice cut-offs very quickly.
I'm not saying every is now perfect, but it has certainly improved in the last 12 to 18 months at this end of the island.
When viewing properties, always ask about a water storage tank and then speak to near neighbours for further information but don't trust the owners or agents replies.
Hooe that helps.
Tom.

Thanks Tom - the property we looked at had a large tank and the agent was honest enough to tell us that the water supply is unreliable.
