No water - it's time CAAF fired someone!

It's not funny is it? Bad cuts twice in a short timespan have really tried my patience. I'm looking at my garden to see if there is a way I can fit in an additional storage tank but that's me looking to sort out CAAF's problem for them.

Esther Hernández requests the urgent convening of the CAAF board to address immediate solutions to water shortages.

In the municipality of Tuineje several businesses close for not having water, according to the city council in a statement, where it is ensured thatthis Thursday the mayor of Tuineje, Esther Hernández, has officially addressed the president of the Water Supply Consortium of Fuerteventura to request the extraordinary and urgent convocation of a meeting of the entity in which both the president and the manager give an account of the current situation, the existence of breakdowns and their resolution, in addition to being able to address urgent solutions to solve the shortage of water supply to the population.



Esther Hernández has been addressed in these terms covered by the statutes of the CAAF that allow a city council to request the convocation of a meeting. In his letter, Hernández, reminds President Lloret that "there are serious water supply problems in Fuerteventura that lead different localities to remain almost 10 days without water, which is a breach of the commitment to supply water to the population and a disastrous service".



Hernández points out that "these supply problems pose a serious health problem, but also an economic one because we are witnessing the temporary closure of businesses as a result of the lack of water supply or the loss of crops or the increase in expenses in the livestock sector."

The mayor of Tuineje asks "height of vision and reach agreements, because the situation requires it and it is urgent that we look for immediate solutions, now we are not in the time to theorize about large works that could well be a long-term solution would not allow water to come out tomorrow through the taps of the houses and businesses of this island ".

Finally, Esther Hernández hopes that the meeting will be convened in the coming days and will be done with data, with time for analysis and debate and that agreements can be reached.

Now having to resort to filling up 8 litre water bottles with seawater to flush the toilets. CAAF simply not fit for purpose, in this heat too.......and still more properties are being built.

To add insult to injury, last year CAAF charged me in excess of Euros 400 for water. We were here 6 months of that time.

Having to join the ranks of motorhomers in Cotillo at their sewage disposal unit this morning, filling up 4 x 8 litre bottles of water from a machine for 1 Euro.

Home owner here for 12 years and it's getting worse year on year.

I bet you haven't had the politicians around canvassing for votes the last few days? They got short shrift from me in Tindaya! They did say water provision was on their manifest.......

Just to finish this particular saga, the water began to flow once again yesterday afternoon. The stand by bottles remain on stand by!

Yup. No water in Cotillo, yet again. Thank God we're going back to civilisation tomorrow, dirty but happy.
