No water - it's time CAAF fired someone!
Radio Sintonia:

The water network will be restored to 70% in a few days according to the Cabildo de Fuerteventura.

The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has announced that since yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, May 9, the fault in the impulsion network that goes from the EDAM of Puerto del Rosario to the La Herradura deposit was repaired.

According to the Water Supply Consortium of Fuerteventura (CAAF), it was necessary to wait for the drying of the fiber-cement pipe to put it back into operation.

In that sense, from today at 7:15 am the GRP DN400 pipe is being loaded and it is calculated between 4 and 5 hours, approximately, to complete the load of the impulsion pipe. Around noon the pumping will be restored, so the water will reach the regulating header tanks of La Herradura. Thus, according to what was transferred, in one or two days, the water network will be restored to 70% in many areas and the supply will return to normal.

President Lloret thanked the effort made by the CAAF for the rapid repair of the fourth fault in a month. He also thanked them for acting quickly and diligently to fix this new fault in one of the two main arteries of the supply network as soon as possible.

Also, to reinforce the supply, since yesterday the service was activated in vats in several areas, such as Tesejerague, El Cardón and the area of cattle ranchers in the south; Ampuyenta, Betancuria and the Santa Inés Valley in the center, and Tindaya in the north.

The CAAF has regretted the inconvenience caused and apologizes to users.

The Water Supply Consortium of Fuerteventura (CAAF) is working on the works of the new impulsion from the desalination plant of Aguas de Antigua to the general network of the CAAF, work framed in the water emergency and that advances at a good pace, according to the president of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Sergio Lloret.

These works will allow the injection of 700 cubic meters of water per day to the south, necessary to guarantee the supply of drinking water on the island, especially in that region.

It is expected that in just over a week this new impulsion can enter into service and thus alleviate the shortage of water in the majorera population.

It's strange. They say the break occurred around 9.30pm Saturday evening but our last water trickled through on Friday morning!

Radio Sintonia:

Water supply restored to La Herradura reservoirs.

From 12:20 today, Monday, May 15, the loading process has been restored in the pipeline for the impulsion of the plant from Puerto Rosario to La Herradura in Fuerteventura, which had suffered a breakdown that caused the interruption of supply in the area.

The first layer of the chemical bond was given yesterday and twelve hours of drying have already passed. The second layer should dry in about three hours. The repaired pipe is still exposed to the sun and the rest of the pipe has been plugged to protect it.

Thus, the supply has already reached the La Herradura deposit and work is being done to recover the levels in the rest of the deposits on the island, which is expected to be achieved in the next two or three days.

The repair of the fault was a process that involved the replacement of 24 meters of conduction, which lengthened the repair process a little longer. Since last Sunday, they had been working tirelessly on the repair, having to remove the concrete that covered the pipes.

Fortunately, the repair process has been carried out successfully and the water supply is being supplemented with all the tanks present in Fuerteventura that are reinforcing the most affected areas. In addition, work is being done with total speed in the rest of the planned emergency actions.
