I've just been told that one can have Residencia Green Card, even if you are not a permanent resident i.e have a holiday home here but live in UK. Is this true? And if so could I have some info on this please? How does it work? If you prefer, please PM me.

I know someone who has non-fiscal Residencia. Your best best is to speak to someone like Miguel from The Boxx Pro. You will find him on Facebook, really good guy who speaks perfect English and knows the system and help you through the process.

Hi Emmi we used Miguel to get our residencia (Green card) Dec '18
My understanding is you need residencia if you spend 90+ in any 180 days and you then need Fiscal (pay tax) residencia if your are here for 183+ days in any rolling year

Yes, as far as I am aware you can have residencia & not be resident. We are still considering this. If you are not at/past retirement age you need full health care (S1 if you are) obviously property deeds (not sure if it can be done on rental contract) & I believe £6k per applicant (3 months bank statements) but doesn’t have to be in Spanish bank.

Interesting, please excuse my ignorance, but what would be the advantages of non fiscal residencia?

At the moment it would mean you could fly here via Madrid as you have your green card to get in to to Spain.
Other advantages are that you get the discounted bus travel and inter-island and mainland travel.
One disadvantage, if you you think it is a disadvantage and we don't at the moment, is that as we have residencia and own a property here our ferry back to the mainland with the car to return to the UK is classed as Non Essential travel under the Movement Restrictions so have to stay here, well that's not a hardship I hear you say and we would agree
