Your suggestion of installing on your laptop, as old as it is, is what I would suggest.

As soon as I find out how to get such an appointment, I will post further information.

Tom.

Great info here for which I thank you.

I am in a process of obtaining the Digital Certificate but with regards to going to office and getting ID verified part I have identified the 5 places in Puerto from here ( https://mapaoficinascert.appspot.com/# ) but question is how do I get a a prior appointment as I can't see contact details of the offices?

I would be grateful if anyone can share recent experience and contact details of offices please.

I read an article a few weeks ago stating that prior appointments are no longer obligatory for carrying out official procedures, not specifically for digital certificates, so you should be able to turn up and take your turn. Good luck. Let us know how you get on please!

Just found it:

Radio Sintonia:

The Government eliminates the appointment as a general system of attention to the citizen, as of October 9.

The Minister of the Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security, Nieves Lady Barreto, announced today that the Government has agreed to establish the necessary measures to make face-to-face attention effective in the regional administration, in its agencies, companies and dependent entities, without the need for an appointment and the opening of registrations every working day of the year. starting next Monday, October 9, 2023.

Nieves Lady Barreto was accompanied at the press conference by the Deputy Minister of Administrations and Transparency, Antonio Llorens, and the Director General of Modernisation and Quality of Public Services, Juana María Reyes.

"We return to the citizens the full exercise of a right that was limited and we bring the Administration of the autonomous community closer to the people, which is one of the objectives of this Government," said the minister, who also urged the rest of the administrations, local and island, that have not yet done so, to implement this measure.

This puts an end to the restrictive measures that remained in force due to COVID-19, for the protection of health and the prevention of the spread of the pandemic, which had already been suspended by Government Agreement in March 2022, but which had not been undertaken in a year and a half and which affected access to citizen services and offices of registration.

In this regard, the Minister reported that the right of citizens to face-to-face attention is guaranteed, without requiring an appointment. Telephone service and appointments for face-to-face care will be voluntary and as an improvement in the offer of services to the population, for which the necessary organizational mechanisms will be established to avoid unnecessary delays in face-to-face care, limiting the number of people attended by appointment, if necessary.

In addition, the Public Administration registers are open every working day, with operating hours from nine to fourteen hours, except during the months of July, August and September, when they will be open from nine to thirteen hours. On 24 and 31 December, only the registers of the Canary Islands Office of Information and Citizen Attention of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will remain open.

In the operation of the registers, it will be taken into account that all the bodies of the Autonomous Administration, as well as the entities of public law and autonomous bodies linked to or dependent on it, will accept the writings or communications that are presented or received addressed to any of its own administrative units or to any of the administrative bodies of the General State Administration. of other Autonomous Communities, and of Local Administration Entities and vice versa.

At the access to public buildings, personal searches derived from the need to carry out the relevant tracing in the event of control of COVID outbreaks will no longer be carried out, without prejudice to the security measures that are established.

The General Technical Secretariats of the different departments of the Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, and of the public law entities and autonomous bodies linked to or dependent on it, will be responsible for establishing the necessary organisational mechanisms to guarantee these rights.

Thank you for the update, sounds promising!

With regards to exact places/offices to go, anyone with a recent experience?

All the info I find here is a precise location in hospital and a mention about a visit to  Agencia Tributaria (tax office) in Rosario, across from Centro Salud Rosario where no other details were given.
But all the info is relatively old, more than one year.

Anyone with latest update potentially please?

Will keep you updated how I manage, plan is to get it in two weeks time.
Thank you all.

OK, here is my report as promised.
All good with downloading the software but I did an important mistake when filling in the application which is simple enough (the application).
Primer Apellido I translated it for myself as First and Family name and I inserted both which was wrong.
Primer Apellido of course means first surname and you do indeed need to insert only family name on the application. Bottom line - learn some languages or at least basics.
Anyway, I received a confirmation mail and on next day I was off to Puerto to identify myself.
This was a learning experience which I am sure will be useful to many.
First I went to Agencia Tributaria, they asked me for an appointment. I didn't have such but kindly asked whether I can be admitted on the day. The security guy checked with the officials and I was given an appointment for after three hours. I was told that as a rule you can book an appointment on 912901340 or at https://sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es/
I had three hours to kill and decided to give it a go with the other locations. I went to hospital (20-min walk from Agencia Tributaria), I followed all the steps from the PDF and managed to find the office fairly easy but it's a big place and it can be a bit confusing. Important thing, on last photo on the PDF it says Assesoria Juridica on the office but actually now it says Personal y Nominas or this is at least where I was taken when I asked for Assesoria Juridica. No appointment needed.
A lady checked my docs and tried to verify the certificate but an error was popping out. She couldn't explain why the error but I realized something wrong went (the Primer Apellido thing). The lady was helpful and patient enough with me even though little English.
Then I decided to try at a second place - the Centro Insular de Juventud. Look for Elena on first floor, security guys will guide you, no appointment needed. Again I got the error there, they called an IT guy who spotted that only surname is needed on the application, mystery solved. They told me to do a new application. Again little English but better than hospital and helpful and kind enough.
I did also go to Agencia Tributaria again for my appointment, the guys spotted the issue right away and told me to the a new application and come back again on next day, I booked an appointment. If I had my laptop with me I could have done the new application on spot as it's an easy one. The guy at desk 2 had good English.
Went back home, did the application again, went back to Agencia Tributaria on next day for my appointment, I was verified within a minute, went back home, downloaded the Digital Certificate.
All good, thank you all for the help!

Well done and thanks for the good feedback. As you now know, it's a very steep learning curve, but you will get there in the end.

OK I need help, we have just received our Digital Certificates and I have downloaded them both, mine and my wife's on my laptop which is running on Windows 11 default browser Edge. Went to test mine by going to the Ayuntamiento de Antigua and check my Certificado de residencia and it would not let me log in. Tried it in Chrome and Firefox the same.

Went and downloaded only my Certificate on my Samsung S7 Tablet and I was then able to log in to my Ayuntamiento details no problem, so my question is can you only have one certificate on any one device?

I don't know if it is just 1 certificate/1 device. I have 2 different profiles on a laptop and have different a certificate in each profile. When you think about it, it makes sense because a digi cert should be restricted to the person it is issued to.
